How Dark Money Can Elect Politician’s and Shape USA
The same questions asked by the US Congresswoman apply to Australia given the powerful influence of US interests here and the fact Australia is trending to follow the US model.
I found this Congresswoman by chance when I noticed a misogynist and ageism response to her speech, it inspired me to investigate her. I thank the person who wrote this below as it has me focusing on those who feel a sense of supremacy by putting another down. This is the comment below that caught my eye, I didn’t worry to read further. I felt inspired to look at her.

It is a disturbing experience to listen to the rambling comments of 30-year old ex-barmaid, Alexander Ocasio-Cortez (AOC). As you listen to the ignorance, inaccuracies, and naïve views, you understand why the Founding Fathers limited the age of eligibility for President to 35.
So please watch the video below to hear the ramblings of this young Hispanic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
This type of interrogation is what is needed in politics, business and the community around the world, I note she is young and I believe that is why she is clear. She demonstrates how corruption is outed when politicians choose to reveal truth and be clear.
I would add that it doesn’t only apply to the current politicians it has been going on since the 19th Century. Former President Lincoln was concerned about business interests. Former President Eisenhower warned about the Military Industrial Complex. This is a real issue globally as they privatise the Earth Inc. This has real implications for the survival of the planet and our ability to solve climate change which emanates from imbalance.
She speaks of the President not being held to the same higher level of ethics as others in politics. Yes this could be instituted in law. However, it is important to understand that no one can be held or forced to adhere to higher ethical standards, we have to teach values based education in schools of a universal nature. These are not big business values, government values, special interest values they are the underlying universal values that unify humanity, they are intrinsic values that are natural not beliefs or being seen to be ethical to avoid critique. So one can’t just be held by fear of retribution one has to be able to access conscience which naturally moves a person away from corruption. Human rights wouldn’t exist if values were deeply felt. Many these days are emotionally, spiritually disconnected and they will ruthlessly pursue their goals justifying away any harm caused, the end goal and winning is all that matters. This is why the world is in turmoil and the simplistic solutions that have been offered through Smart technologies is not going to sustain or save the world, it is taking the world further into disconnection. The comment from the technocrat above reveals that he is underdeveloped socially, so how can he live in a democratic space respecting diversity? I say that with respect and mindful of many invested in IT, but I feel intuitively it is a major issue and this industry has influenced its way into a position of global domination at a level never seen before. It exemplifies how money talks, political influence concedes and communities around the world are not consulted. Industries interest are paramount and the rest is seen as a threat if anyone raises dissent or disagreement, democracy goes out the window.
I wish to address the Congresswoman’s statement about the ‘bad guy’, no matter who she is talking about Clinton, Bush, Obama or Trump or an industry. It is simplistic to define the ‘good guy bad guy’ version of the world. We heard Bush do it ‘with us or against us’ and all it does is polarise conflict, entrench it and create an evil other. This was done to Saddam Hussein as articulated by Scott Ritter (former weapons inspector, Iraq). It inspires hate and fear. I would accept as a peacemaker everyone believes what they are doing is for some good, even if it is for the good of their industry or self interest. I feel it is important to look at how we shape and reward negative characters who get the job done but have no emotional intelligence, sense of shared concern, or ability to empathise with those who could be potentially harmed or are harmed, as he feels nothing. This is not a distorted left wing perception, this is what it means to be a human when experiencing balance intellectually and emotionally, integrated is an accurate description. It changes the way you see is my point.
The whole system of economics promotes and favours profit maximisation, rational decision making, economic growth, jobs without question as a social and economic good. GDP or GNP are the statistical signs of good health/bad health. We use dichotomy’s to decide yes or no. We anchor onto right/wrong, good/bad, approval/disapproval, accepted/rejected and it goes on. Yet life is more complicated and the real homeostasis we don’t even see in our attitudes or behaviors that are the very creators of the world we experience.
The current cultural stories and narratives unthinkingly and unconsciously continue down trajectories that are sinking the planet, without doubt. The limited variety of people who can get into politics have to cut their teeth by mouthing the words those of influence want to hear, exhibiting the wealth as ‘success’ to be seen, approved of by the king makers as they jump through hoops to prove themselves. Having said that Trump is a maverick as he has his own wealth. It is not about democracy it is about money. Freedom of speech is a nice notion but only certain narratives are broadcast, the rest ignored if they are not aligned with the public relations line of the party. There is no space for real diversity, real choice that stands up because they feel the inspiration to serve the people as a true public servant. That would be laughed at in the corridors of power. To the detriment of society powerful interests back their candidates, and they are not always domestic, we have other nations purchasing people to carry their messages and spin. Thus the House of Representatives or the Senate are like a Stock market trading floor where good is an increase in stocks and bad is a decline, the same for the budget etc. It is place to negotiate their best deal at the expensive of the entire country. It is a failed system as is ours here in Australia. I think around the world there is a chorus of people all realising they are in trouble, where to go with this. Perhaps that is why police are being armed, rendition camps created and more onerous national security espionage anti-terrorism laws created to suppress the public dissent when they realise the reality on the ground. This of course is not democracy either, always the people bare the brunt of a failing political system, they bare the brunt if the economy is manipulated into recession or what was seen in the GFC. The people have to suffer funding cuts to public assets, living on less as the CPI rises, prices go up, wages go down and this is called freedom. yet they will be the ones who suffer again when the walls on the street come down. The real walls are the structures put in place that retain this inequality of the many to support the excess of the few. An incredible and primitive scenario played out in the name of winning. What is there to win when all lose?
As this congresswoman has made clear those of questionable character can be backed by Political Action Committees, they can get in and amend any regulation to benefit themselves. This is not freedom or winning, it is service to self standing on a false platform of service to the people when in truth they are profiting from the election into positions of power and then bringing mates on board who they trust, cutting out the deadwood as they would see and then imprinting their version of the world onto others without the slightest interest in what the people want who pay for them. This is why I believe democracy is being collapsed to give free reign for those to dictate without any legal impediments that might make them accountable. That is how rotten the system has become. Yet there are many that will support this trajectory, that will protect it for the money, as they too only care about self interest. Selfishness is what actually sinks any system, a stable state can only arise from fairness. These are not tasty catch phrases, they are rock solid foundations of real stability and security but so many think guns, rockets and threats force stability when in truth like crumbling Czechoslovakia or Iraqi leadership, when they lost the perception of power they crumbled personally. This quote is accurate and I believe David Rockerfeller said similar:
Beyond direct control, your power is very largely based on what others accept, so their perception of your power is important. If people believe you have power, then that belief is power handed to you on a plate. If they do not believe you have power, then you may yet be able to convince them. The Power Perception Matrix.
The power I feel is in empowerment, it is ‘to know thyself and be true’. I do not care if people believe I have power or not. I have seen the response to homelessness and poverty and the fact I was treated as a lesser. I found that fascinating. As I am the same person whether an economist, market analyst, secretary, partner, woman, homeless on an on it goes. So the point is the power of perception. None of it is true but people choose to give power away as they haven’t questioned their fear, they were born into this power matrix so much of it is unconscious. You only have to image a iceberg, the truth is under the surface, the illusion is the cap (feels like the right words) or tip.
So democracy has been corrupted by the perception of power and all jumping on board as a salient cue of security as money.
In truth it is not a democracy at all as the majority of people from all classes, backgrounds and interests do not have the ability to access this forum without money and serious backing. They are perceived as less.
Think of the irony of money spent on elections in pursuit of power when people are starving or in serious trouble seeking to survive. Another’s troubles are not one’s own, we separate and victim blame, they made their bed etc. This is the major disconnect that the public is acutely aware of. They know they are lied to, they know they are kept in ignorance as the technocrat in the above quote so clearly enunciated not as information provision but as undermining. Another problem with communication. We don’t know how to communicate in ways that honour diversity but make clear points, as the Congresswoman did demonstrate. Many who are indoctrinated with war mentalities are in it for the fight, so much energy is expended when an enemy is in the sites but the real problem underlying these gladiator forums, is the real needs of the millions and billions around the world who are out of the picture. Their fate is regarded as collateral damage, to use a war terminology. The mentality that discards them is completely disconnected from his or her humanity as their ambition for more blinds them to the underlying purpose of why politics was invented. It emerged from the Greek Agoras, I had a flash of Indians sitting around a fire, so before the Agora there was the tribe (community) as a setting for conflict resolution and peace making. They passed the peace pipe around and deeply considered their response, not with insults but firstly honouring the different view, then explaining their own, coming to a decision or not. This is thinking as a group not for individual gratification. The wise wait for wisdom. Often the wise man or medicine man in this case was consulted given experience. In our world there is pressure to be seen as decisive with complex issues, to make snap judgements, to be on the side of right as politics is fast moving like a soap powder brand, every aware of opinion polls. The media picks up and drops off stories sound byte by sound byte not providing depth reflection or wider consultation in order to deliver a range of perspectives that offer knowledge for further consideration. The knowledge revolution is not IT, it is a willingness to serve people to ensure the highest good for them, not you. It is to give time to solutions by intending to solve the problem for the highest good. It is to move amongst diverse groups to hear different insights, as there is great wisdom in the community so marginalised. Intention drives the creative process and it does manifest outcomes. I have worked as a market analyst, I have polled people, I know they have considerable wisdom across a spectrum of extreme views and moderate. I have always been amazed how the public is not seen as a source of real information. instead we have experts, professors, industry PACs, think tanks, politically savvy people all spooking their ideas, all speaking on behalf of the public but not knowing in the slightest what people truly want. Nor do they care. The fate of millions and billions around the world are in the hands of a few thousand who only think of self interest. So when an environmental crisis comes or is manufactured, again the public are disrespected by clever schemes to make money out of collapse, to refuse to deal with the free energy issue that is the pink elephant always in the room. You could regard it as Telsa’s spirit that is around and waiting to see if you choose the ‘gold bar or the planet’, the same question is put back to Al Gore. The brand images as signs, the words as signposts do not speak of fundamental transformative change in our attitudes, our demand for more materialism, our refusal to give up the SUV, two jobs, live on less, grow your own vegetables as all follow the crowd like sheep and complain when it is out of control, rather than taking back their power and asking questions, like has been demonstrated by the Congresswoman.
I regard her questions as revealing the Emperor has no clothes and ethically there is a serious void or a lack of courage to tackle the truth and lay it on the table, as was done.
President Trump unwittingly is doing good through who he is not. He is awakening the United States, not deliberately, but as a matter of being who he is and saying it like it is. I personally am no fan of his but as a peacemaker I allow everyone to play out their part in this global drama, I see his role as critical. He profiles the business man’s ruthlessness coupled with bullying tactics, he has no respect for woman but he is challenging a corrupt political order that has existed since Lincoln. He regards Hilary and Bill Clinton as criminals and this is why he is nonchalant around the trial of Julian Assange, he would be applauding Wikileaks for sure. He is challenging this corporate deep state takeover of the United States. That is the conversation that Americans have to have. As the US has in truth interfered with the politics of many countries, it is hypocritical for the FBI to investigate Trump over the Russian interference when their history is long and dark. In Australia the CIA deposed Gough Whitlam as is coming out. They are deeply involved in our political system.
So when will US lawmakers actually clean up their system, so that the world can breath a sigh of relief, as so many are suffering. I reflect on the Syrian, Afghan, Iraqi people who have suffered endlessly through Oil Oligarchy wars without end. Who actually thinks deeply about the families under bombardment, in fear of attack moment to moment, who never feel safe and whose lives are cannon fodder. Who actually cares or takes responsibility for the war crimes in the name of liberty and freedom. This is not what real freedom and liberty looks like.
Corruption is like a cancer, it erodes the political, economic, cultural and social fabric as it unravels the very values that make a people great. Those values ascribed by the founding fathers were life, liberty and happiness. This is to value life, how does war do that? Liberty is freedom how are people free when they live in false class systems to ensure there is a cheap workforce to serve the interests of those in property (a never ending dynamic that gave rise to left/right wars). How is choice there when all is users pay or privatised and access is income? How is their equal health care when you have buy insurance to make an insurance industry rich at the expense of people’s health who can’t afford it and can afford to eat the poorest quality foods? I’ve had the experience of walking down a shopping aisle to buy noodles and getting happier when I could buy decent food. Who gets to choose the death of a poor person over the health and wellbeing of a wealthy person? Who is truly of more value? To those person’s friends and family they are their world, they know them and love them and value them. Love is the great equalizer, it is no mistake that ‘love your neighbour as yourself was stated’ by a wise one. Self love may be a key here. This inequality is embedded in the structural violence based on income that provides all needs for some and blocks access to needs for others based on some characteristic, that incites resentment, protest and a sense of exclusion from a system that says it is inclusive, democratic (sharing) and values merit etc. Jane Elliott the Texan educator comes in here to remind people of the fake divisions based on culturally contrived discrimination (see Blue Eyed Brown Eyed Series). Clearly those with the right colour, background, education income access more, influence more, are heard more in a so-called democracy and have the freedom of doing what they want, accessing lawyers and deregulating what ever blocks their greed rather than a wider perspective of why deregulation is there – to prevent excesses and ensure health and safety. Greed indeed is the great fear, and fear is the only enemy of humankind as it distorts reality. Is this the sort of world people truly want? Is this greatness? Or is fame on social media the go? Do those in privileged positions feel good about the person suiciding as welfare was cut or they were depressed feeling a failure? Should they go eat cake? Who said that? Another aristocrat completely removed from the reality of the people. How can a person be less than another when all come out the same way? Is it because of the degree of lanolin in their skin based on geography and time? Or because they couldn’t access quality education? Imagine the latent talent there wasted. Wonder at the opportunity cost of the poor person who was greater than Einstein, Tesla, Mother Teresa or Gandhi whose spirit sunk into the bottom of a bottle in despair, focusing on hardship and loss not greatness and the potential of who they really are? Imagine that. How advanced, clever or intelligent is racism, sexism, homophobia, inequality, unfairness etc. How is that great? People say they are Christians or of faith as is this is the ethical yardstick that cites on Sunday: ‘thou shalt not judge’, then ignoring this Monday to Saturday, as they go for opponents, gossip, set up and lie about them and the true state of affairs the public confronts. Such is the charade, denial and deception as normalised. These are all unchecked fears based on real ignorance not an aspiring humanity or advancing civilisation oriented to reach its highest potential. It is dragged down by structures of fear that people will not address and overcome as they demand more arms, more security, more policing rather than driving to the core problem of powerlessness, particularly in those of power.
Until you are willing to reach out across that divide, come down from ivory towers (or Trump towers) and look into the Twin Towers of crumbling deception to sift for the gold or real truth as evidence to ascertain the solutions, you will continue on with endless wars that are blamed on others but serve no-one and continue the pain. The gold I call the Fool’s Gold as people think they would have to be a fool to speak up. It has been written that for the love of the tyrannt you must speak up, to allow tyranny to continue like an ostrich in the sand only worsens the situation.
Life when lived in truth is beautiful as you are clear. That is where truth leads you. It leads you home to peace and a sense of real accomplishment, it has nothing to do with trinkets or power.
What do you think or FEEL? Do you have the courage to speak your truth and stand for what will actually serve not only yourself but everyone else for they are your family and tribe.
So to Alexandria, showing the mirror to those in the room and the YouTube audience. Truth is what the Founding Fathers wanted and real happiness only arises when you face it.
