There Is No Enemy
I felt inspired to write this. I thank the intelligence community for inspiring me. I am at peace. I send love to every one. In the spirit of democracy and free speech I send this to you. My freedom has not come from anyone fighting, it has come from my decision to love and that came from within.
THERE IS NO ENEMY
To those trained to see an enemy,
This is a love letter from one trained to integrate peace,
I am not in your shoes,
I know not what you know,
I’ve not suffered your pain,
As you have not suffered mine,
So we will exchange as friends,
For in the end,
The enemy was always within.
I understand you are in terror,
I have a way out of terror and into real peace,
It can be challenging to those who believe their thoughts without question,
What they have been taught has been held as honour,
But this is the only way to true freedom,
It is how the camel can pass through the needle,
In any desert storm,
To find the impossible is possible,
So if you want to win bravely,
You must learn to lose your story,
Gracefully.
I send this with great respect,
I send this with great love,
For we have droned on for a long time fighting for peace,
One cannot fight for peace with war,
You can only make peace by peaceful means,
In truth one is fighting the enemy within,
For peace is WHO YOU ARE when you are not fighting,
It is the moment you smile at your life – en-joy,
And loving your freedom without fear or favour,
For in the name of democracy I must share my power with you,
And I allow you to have your voice,
For every decision is a choice,
To live the truth or in illusion,
The choice was always yours.
What do I mean the enemy is within?
Do you look for traitors or do you look for untruth?
We point the finger of blame yet three fingers point back,
We project onto others that which we refuse to own,
For pain is a nightly bedfellow,
And many fight their battles in the world,
Yet the real battle for self-awareness,
Starts within,
And this is the greatest battle of all,
It is where dark and light originate,
As the mind and the heart are in conflict,
With what is true!
Is it true you can fight for freedom?
What is freedom but making a choice?
And everyone gets to choose in this life or the next,
Some choose differently to you is that their right?
Are they the enemy of choice?
Can you make peace with your greatest fear?
For the overtures will come from within you when you are ready to see differently,
Seeing the man terrorised is not an enemy,
Seeing the mother’s hysteria etched in his face,
Seeing a family blown apart is not collateral damage,
Seeing a child without limbs is not a target at a whim,
For all artists are your greatest teachers,
All critics are your helpful guides,
For we kindly remind you of what you cannot see,
Your true humanity.
To find truth do we sit at King Arthur’s round table in equality?
Or do we deal cards under the table?
Do we go on believing we are righting wrongs?
Justifying violence as a necessary evil?
Can you truly change the hearts and minds of others?
When there are universal laws of cause and effect?
For what you do to another always returns to the Self,
Did you know that turning the other cheek is not cowardice,
It is the choice to not fight fire with fire,
To be a mirror to the one who projects violence from within,
To discover through nonviolence and non-retaliation the real power,
To see clearly that you are fighting your Self.
The majority of fresh recruits never shoot to kill,
For it is human nature not to kill,
To do what is inhumane one must be trained,
One must believe they are fighting for honour,
For all soldiers and militants believe they fight for honour,
Yet the greatest honour is in saving life,
To save the child,
To save the woman,
To save the family,
Saves the man from committing murder,
Saves him from lifetimes of endless guilt,
Saves him from the PTSD of an endless war,
For he knows civilians are not the enemy,
Yet they have become the primary targets in modern wars,
As a bully targets the perceived weak to weaken the state of affairs,
Hit them where it hurts!
For this is fighting below the belt,
As the Geneva Conventions go out the door,
In revolving door conflicts lost in the quagmire of greed,
And this is the bad seed that plants fear and famine as the fruit of war.
This message is for those fighting for god,
God does not need you to fight what is created out of love,
For all are One in truth,
God life love is on every side,
This presence embraces you as you die,
For you are cradled by love all your life and you do not know it,
You cried privately your hands held together as if in a silent prayer
pleading for peace,
For the greatest peacemaker is felt when love arises as your heart and soul mate,
You are numbed with grief dropping all thoughts like thorns from the crown of power,
Pain brings you to your knees as you watch life in a freeze frame,
The movie of your own creation,
For love is the answer you are seeking to discover in war zones,
And we create our dramas out of fear, hatred and self-loathing,
We disconnect the heart and mainline the mind calling myth true,
Yet the only truth is that love is who we all are when we stop fighting,
When we create an open space and call this true democracy,
So all voices can be heard at all tables …
With respect,
With understanding,
With wisdom.
The enemy is the shadow self my friend,
You cannot see it as it is the dark cloud obscuring your vision,
It arrives like a vapour trail the moment you think less of the other,
It is the inner dictator that divides to conquer,
It is the imagined god of fear parading as forceful power,
It is the greatest lie told to the human race.
We are in truth each other’s keepers,
We may look different,
We may speak a different tongue,
Yet we eat through the mouth,
We see through the eyes,
We sing from the voice,
We love our children through the heart,
And in this we are exactly the same,
For we have more in common than different,
We are the one family,
The one race,
The one humanity,
And this is the light obscured when we choose war as a solution,
Why not be trained in conflict resolution?
Solving the problem at its source,
To watch the children play and sing,
New songs for future generations committed to peace.
Until inner truth is realised as fact not fiction,
Wars will not end as false projectors of reality,
And the arrow will turn on itself,
The magic bullet will find its maker,
For who wishes to live in such a world of violent discord?
Where there is no peace?
Where we never learn the enemy we fight is always within,
When thoughts are unquestioned as gospel truth,
The war continues until peace is the highest choice,
In truth.
The peacemaker steps back and watches the frenzy,
Observes that both sides are confused,
She waits for sanity to create a space for true peace,
Conflict resolution awakens empathy in the other,
Cooperation renders both responsible for solutions,
Responsibility is reparations in action and good faith,
To focus on what works rather than pointless destruction,
To expand on the peace that exists without flank attacks,
To disarm all at the table for they must learn to be vulnerable,
To realise the greatest courage is to know thyself and be true,
To allow life to determine your fate for none are in control of universal truth,
For cause and effect have generated unintended consequences.
Why not…
Sit with the surviving family member and say a tear stained sorry is the greatest healing,
Show how real democracy does not influence leaders but allows the people to choose,
Stop oiling the wheels of industry buying political curry,
Recognise military sales are complex and fuelled by vested interests valuing war over peace,
For profits are all they worship,
Stop using weapons for violence perpetuating endless misdeeds and personal karma,
For the deeds to the future of all countries are written in constitutions of self-determination,
Instigating real freedoms by advising a Bill of Rights with respect to all individuals and groups,
A pact of non-interference from all 191 countries at the United Nations,
For true prophets arise from virtues and truth as the real Declaration of Independence,
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness… That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed…”
Rights can no longer be forced at the end of a gun,
Peaceful protests by the people must be respected,
Finding the courage to negotiate freedoms that cause no harm,
To find the middle path in acceptance of difference as language embalmed in alms,
To seek happiness in the eyes of children realising the world is one human community,
For the dark ages are over,
The new age has arrived,
And what I see in you is in me,
What you see in me is in you,
For we are brothers and sisters,
And I have no enemy but my own untruth,
And I will never give up on uprooting every lie,
And it is with great focus that I weed out all my lies,
Held as righteousness in disguise,
For I am the creator of my reality,
I take full responsibility for my choices,
And I choose a world returning to true peace,
