The Middle East Finds Peace

Often the media reports from both sides – the Israeli right to exist and the Palestinian right to self defence as justification for violence. Yet what of the right of all civilians to civil rights. The right to live in equality with each other, this is the natural justice that is seldom mentioned. It is the core of the dispute.

When people regard themselves as different and they fly flags saying ‘I am a Israeli’ and the other says ‘I am a Palestinian’, that becomes the point of division and discrimination. One may assert they have biblical rights accorded 2000 years ago, the other historical rights based on lineage in the same geographical area. The lesson we are all learning is to coexist, that all humans have the right to peace. When we all see this as our birth right, then the dove will glide peacefully down into the hearts of enemies to realise there are none. If the goal is ownership, we forget the human costs as greed becomes the modus operandi rather than the right to co-exist.

This has been a test for both sides. When peace wins, then we find all people are chosen as love is chosen.  I revisit this post and I find myself drifting away from rights.  We are all human and as this becomes my focus I see we either live in peace or not, if not does it feel right feels a better question. When we move from the mind made self to the feelings or emotions of our humanity it will direct us like an internal navigator to our own truth.  When we align with truth it actually feels good. Real security is found in peaceful relations, that is the true winning for all sides.  I see peace in the middle east now, it is really a question of seeing peace. When you be peace you will see it.  What if all we see is projection? What if only love is real?

THE MIDDLE EAST FINDS PEACE

The Middle East finds peace,
So many olive groves,
Many branches in the olive tree,
Yet who will take the olive branch,
As the real peace offering in gratuity.

If you are struck on the right cheek offer the left,
An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind,
So many sermons on the mounts,
Capitol Hill,
The Israeli Knesset,
The Palestinian Authority,
The European Union,
Yet this is an unhappy union,
As power replaced love,
Geography was divided,
Politics became derided,
Spirituality faded on false pre-texts,
Yet Judea and Samaria
Ezor Yehuda VeShomron (Hebrew) al-Yahudiyyah was-Sāmerah (Arabic)
Cast mountain shadows,
On banks rather than borders,
For the south will meet the north,
And the north will meet the south,
Without banks looking to the West.

This is not about settlement,
It is not about foreclosure,
It is about breaking bread,
Sharing food,
Reuniting cousins,
For the chosen people,
Are those who choose love,
And remember to love your enemy as yourself.

Poverty and great wealth veils discrimination,
To give to the poor is the greatest treasure,
For God does not see Israeli Jew or Palestinian Arab,
For both worship God,
There are only sheep and shepherds,
Those who follow and those who lead astray,
For they are lost and have not been found,
For they must choose – unity or segregation?
peace or war?
These are the master questions,
Of real prophet.

The Star of Bethlehem has retuned to the sky,
To guide the wise prophets,
Who seek no profit only wisdom,
For wisdom comes as the mediator,
That hears both stories,
Ensuring each side is deeply heard by the other,
Without walls of right or wrong,
Without defence as justification,
To sit quietly to face the pain of the other,
As peace ensures walls are torn down,
Unity builds new bridges to settlements,
To share equally in the outcome of win/win,
For truth needs no shield,
When both parties are willing to acknowledge what is
then let go of past failures,
Participating in truth commissions,
that lead home to the Holy Grail.

I am wailing at the wall,
For the pain of separation,
Divides lands,
Divides families,
Divides children,
Many speak of rights,
The right to exist the right to self defence,
But what of the natural right to love and live,
For this message is carried by the dove tonight,
For death revokes the right to exist,
Murderous revenge opposes the right to self preservation,
Violence uses weaponry as power,
Fear and intimidation are the tools of control,
Yet both are medievil,
Neither promote good governance,
As the right to freedom of speech,
The right to live in peace without interference,
The right to life, liberty and happiness,
As the 3 wise men,
Do not exist in militarized zones of distrust,
Where civilians are potential terrorists in the dust,
Checkpoints the barriers to change,
Walls of fear erected chains,
Rather than rivers of compassion,
Allowed to flow from the hearts of mothers,
Who beat their chests in uncontrolled grief,
For another child is killed in the cross fire,
That only advances terror.

So friends,
You are family whether you agree or not,
You exist and you need no defence,
There is no need to recite commandments,
Only commitments in real time,
Love thy neighbour as yourself (love),
Thou shalt not kill (disarmament),
Allah Akbar (god is great),
For Jesus and Mohammad are praying in unison,
That an Israeli may find compassion for an Arab child,
And a Palestinian finds compassion for a Jewish child,
And then treat the child as family,
Brings all families together,
When you will love thy enemy as yourself.

The real enemy is violence that has no allegiance to peace,
That does not allow a human life to exist,
That requires self defence,
When in truth love is indefensible,
For many are quoting biblical references,
Or referring to the Koran for guidance,
Love is The Word that is true,
It is understood by the very few,
For they are the messengers of truth,
That will come to you soon,
For what you resist persists,
What you look at disappears,
For the truth is the clear waters of clarity,
And understanding is the clear intention of charity,
That gives alms to those in spiritual and physical poverty.

The Sea of Galilee is the wellspring
of a new common era,
It brings new life
when you feel the peace on Golan Heights,
Singing blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God,
Watching the Great Rift Valley come together,
In a tectonic shift,
For the Middle East conflict is the thorn in the crown of world peace,
As the rose of love blooms a sacred elixir,
To taste love as it flows from you smiling lips,
Your eyes are closed to prejudice,
Your ears are closed to deception,
You speak the truth and move on,
For truth finds common-unity,
It is the middle ground,
And God’s wish for you is to love each other,
Especially to love yourselves,
For there is no Jew or Arab,
Only people desperately seeking to find a safe haven,
For heaven is when you all come home to love,
For that has always been where your heart is.
