Smiling IS Peace

I had to write this poem as I feel so much joy rising up within me that I have to share it with you. It continually amazes me how happy I feel and the sense of being in love with the source of life. It is a real feeling for me, and I do feel truly blessed. It is because I am living my truth, that is why I am so happy. When I feel this way I just love all the people around me. Always I chat with them, it is like life becomes one big family. I just shake my head and smile. I found something greater than gold. So here is my poem dedicated to you.

SMILING IS PEACE

I have silent spring,
That wells up within me,
It is happiness,
It is joy,
It is raw,
It is tearful,
It is real,
For it comes to me in waves,
For no reason,
For I am living life like a fool,
In a way that makes me so happy,
How can I be so full?
I must be the fool!

Happiness is not about a job,
It is not about a partner,
Or children,
Or great wealth,
Or simplicity,
It is to know yourself and be true,
It is to know you,
And live the values you hold dear,
For to betray yourself,
Is to invite fear,
And this is the beginning of depression.

We speak of positive communities,
We speak of keeping the peace,
But there are no peace keepers,
Only being peace is the key,
It is the keep sake you can never lose,
For you no longer can take for pleasure
only give with joy,
And this is the beginning of true happiness,
That is the wisdom of the real life.

For life is a miracle of birth,
The moment of conception,
You chose to be here,
You know not how you came into existence,
Indeed from whence you came,
But you arrived on this earth,
You are the salt of the earth,
You were meant to be here,
Otherwise you wouldn’t,
And what a privilege it is to meet you,
Imagine how many lives you have changed,
You need not be a pop star,
Nor a famous celebrity,
For your star burns bright in existence,
And you are seen from afar,
For without you the world would not be the same,
For we are all equally in this game of life,
To remember we are all the same.

So embrace happiness,
Give to receive,
Receive so another can give,
For as you unlock joy in yourself,
You unlock it in others,
You find it again in yourself,
For we are indeed each others gate keepers,
Yet there is nothing you can keep,
For life is transitory and free,
And we are along for the ride do you see?

So enjoy your moments as friends,
Look for the joy in your work or without,
Look for the joy with your partner,
Look for the happiness without a partner,
And reflect in the mirror of your life,
The miracle of life,
What a pleasure to just be,
For this is the treasure that is often discarded,
And life is the one big event,
So love it all with abandon,
Yet never abandon yourself,
Live to your highest,
Shine your light,
Fly your kite
We all want to see,
For we are on the thermals with you,
Never knowing when the time is up,
So keep up the good work,
And set yourself free,
For smiling is the peace,
That everyone can see,
