Selfishness Destroys Community
I have had the feeling to speak on selfishness and saw this poem tonight. I felt to post it. Until we shift from selfishness that only seeks self interest it is a race to the bottom. I would like to see more selfless women in positions of power, as most women are peacemakers and many give birth. As a result of motherhood many spend most of their lives considering others needs first, then themselves. Many naturally serve the group. It is not to say that women are better than men, it is to say that many women’s lives are selfless, and it is this selflessness with a focus on children that will save the planet and create a future. Any men that feel this way, I would consider to be part of the feminine, which is not about women but an attitude of love, nurturing and community. Natural selection will favour these qualities. The business as usual paradigm will shift in the future. I feel we are all going home and this is back to a paradigm of love. I feel this strongly and feel called to it.
MY LONG MARCH HOME
The journey of a thousand whys is ending,
The story of a thousand endings has closed,
And I am no longer confused by plays with no plot,
For the eco plot is the only play that gives life,
As the life of the ego has no seed to cultivate a sustainable future,
For the future sustains only those who love truth,
As this is the roof that turns into a shelter,
That welcomes all of us home,
Into the warmth of self acceptance.
For I leave the cityscape for a landscape,
I leave the politics for community,
For the common unity serves all without fear or favour,
And this is the flavour of the future,
That is calling all to taste,
Yet the world is falling – a race to the bottom,
As the core of the tree of life becomes rotten.
For when stonewalling is accepted as policy,
Human rights becomes floated as folly,
Thus to speak to a friend in need,
Is not believed as right,
Instead the brush tarnishes the light,
Conversations garnish one side over another,
To discredit and find fault,
Is the vault that is empty and not safe,
For in the world of adversarial politics,
Of power and prestige,
Privilege is in who you know,
As merit is blindsided,
Truthfulness downsized,
Justice loses the blind fold as the mask lessens,
Preferring those in the fold without questions,
Let them eat cake or throw a few crumbs,
As this leaves you numb in the face of nakedness,
For I had nothing to hide,
I feel god by my side,
As inspiration rises above pride.
The win/lose is a house of cards,
That will fall as it has no foundation,
For always tyrants rise and fall,
Gandhi whispers they always fall,
Do it god’s way and pray for all,
For a long time I did not believe to see,
That the inner glow would set me free,
And lead me to rhyme without reason,
For I am singing out of tune,
As I am the lucky rune of Stonehenge
Not a stone wall,
Inguz speaks of completion and fertility,
As my winter solstice turns into an equinox,
From extremes to equality,
Is the quality of character only known in symbols
of love and humanity.
For men do not know what they do,
Ignorance is the bliss that seeks to avoid,
Taking away the brightness of joy,
To find Lloyds of London collapses in a climate of change,
The financial sector is shaken then washed away,
As a new paradigm arises from the ashes,
That you cannot sustain deception,
You cannot avoid the truth of the commons,
For self interest is killing our world,
Selfishness destroys community,
And the boys club breaks up the family,
In favour of pleasures that never last,
It is only the heart that reveals itself in innocence.
For the holy grail IS the Agora,
To walk past truth has no future,
To stonewall speakers is no panacea,
As speakers stand in silence at the corner,
The centre peace of democracy a carbon sink,
To find the standing stone has no meaning,
The earth tilts for we stand at the brink,
A philosopher’s stone in-forms freedom,
As I conclude my long march was to see,
In-to-me-see (intimacy) is the truth that set you free,
As a moving statute of liberty,
Enshrined in universal law.
