The Noble Peace Prize is Yours

TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR PEACE

I am right,
You are wrong,
I will prove I am right,
Because I feel good,
And you will feel smaller,
And that is how we play
Win/lose.

I will look for fault,
I will look for what is wrong with you,
But seldom do I look at myself with the same lantern,
For what you see in the other,
Lives in the self,
And in this is the real world,
There is no other,
Only the self reflecting back,
Truth or fantasy.

To live in fantasy,
One must make up the truth,
One must assume to know,
Or speak a future until it proves true,
For the maize throws up walls and dead ends,
We must navigate towards the goal of peace,
Or follow the rainbow to the fools gold,
For all walls are illusions of fear,
How do we know we are in fear?
For our words speak of darkness not light,
This blocks us from the straight path,
For home is always back at the beginning.

It is time to take responsibility,
Be prepared to face truth,
To not furnish argument with shade covers on the comfortable chair of your reasons,
Ensuring you don’t leave the comfort zone,
To sit by the fire of self congratulations rather than self examination,
On the highest moral ground at the base of the mountain,
That you are afraid to come down from.

Yet what would you do if the truth landed on your doorstep
and refused to leave?
Knocking at your door through the faces of those you deemed enemies
until you acknowledged its presence,
Received as a true friend,
And not protecting the real enemy
of your ego.

Many have come into your life to test your story,
For the story is long and repetitious,
They were sent to challenge,
Sent to inspire,
Sent to set you free.

For only the truth sets you free,
And how do you know it is true,
You feel free from lies,
Free from excuses,
Free from sorrow,
Free from keeping up appearances,
Free from vulnerability,
For in your vulnerability,
In your forthright admissions,
This is the greatest freedom,
For there is no shame,
There is no blame,
In a world of responsibility.

If you knew that you were loved,
That this was never in doubt,
This required no maintenance from affirmations,
Or reinforcement from friends,
For the greatest love is surrounding you with shelter,
With food,
With air to breath,
As the sunshine pours in through the window,
Like a fresh stream of flowing water,
For the nourishment is constant,
And yet it is silent,
It is kissing you in your sleep,
For the precious angel of god,
Is always known.

They are simply sleeping in the illusion of sweet separation,
For they are choosing the play,
They are choosing the drama,
They are playing victim,
But I will gently nudge,
Gently prod for the dreaming is coming to an end,
For the ‘good’ in life we must now re-send,
By leading through example,
That each is my brother, sister, mother and father,
And it no longer matters what they do,
For what they do is not who they are,
Who they are is myself looking back at me,
And only through clarity will I set myself free.

The first step is to say I may be wrong,
They may be right,
There may be something I do not see,
That something can set my judgements free,
For the past is gone and the pre-sent is here,
I will ask them to speak the truth to me,
I will not react or retract, just stand in the fire,
So that I may be a witness and not their judge.

For to judge is to conclude,
And what we condemn returns and burns,
To observe is to allow what is for it exists,
For they are the master of their reality,
As I am the master of mine,
I choose love over fear,
Truth over falsehood,
Good over evil in my thought words and actions,
I may dislike the sin but never the sinner,
Unconditional love has no conditions,
For it is time to resolve the conflict within,
And become the winner over adversity and conflict.

The noble peace prize is yours for the taking,
For honour and beauty choose the light,
For dark is light and light appears dark,
For we can only see what we are by what we are not,
And love is a win/win for all,
Especially when they never hear the call.
