Living the life of freedom – Jan 2011

I returned from my world trip in December and since then I have been staying at friends places. I find I do not feel insecure and this time I have no car. So I am reliant on people to give me lifts to where I need to go next, as my bag is heavy.

Within the first week I was invited to present my world trip to a Council. I am slowely getting around friends and saying goodbye in my own way. I am heading to Brisbane as I felt inspired to go back to university, I thought I was going to study the environment, hence the name of my blog. However, I have had a long dispute which was based on a man who stonewalled me and showed attention. The dynamic of this caused me great pain, as I loved him. I tried forever to ask him to resolve this with me, but he chose silence instead. The situation provided a hidden oppportunity for me to practice inner peace. My life is dedicated to inner and outer peace, so I practiced writing to him politely, not feeling negative and reasserting the truth. This became deeply engrained in me over 9 years. Some may sit back and say how could you write to someone for that period. To be honest I felt he wanted the connection as he would walk past me at the university and look, I felt I touched something within him. I can be a mystery so maybe he was perplexed. Whatever the case, I felt inspired to reach this person in a spirit of love and freedom. I wrote 1500 poems over this period on peace, truth, love, politics, life, universal energy and so on. It was truly amazing to find myself reaching for the unseen to heal any misconceptions I may have. There are ways to tap into the spiritual world, and for many this may bring up images of mystics, mediums and all of that, but for me it was simply becoming silent and allowing my inspiration to guide what I wrote. I just relaxed and let go and amazing poetry flowed. I learned much from what I wrote and it inspired me to reach further and further into truth. So I have much to thank this man for, he actually helped me find myself. He was in reality my teacher in politics but also my teacher on higher levels. I always see people easy or difficult as teachers.

So my time here in Melbourne has been great. It has been interesting to move between such a diverse range of friends. Some are environmentalists, some are into peace, others do office work, one is a spiritual medium (always interesting at her place), another is a lawyer, a nurse, clowns, buddhists, laughter practitioners, CEO’s and the list goes on. I have a diverse range of really good friends and I will miss them.

I found within myself a deeper maturity on my return from the world trip. I feel deeply confident in myself and I see my friendships are not about my friends proving they love me, but me just simply loving friends without expectation. I feel very grateful when I sit and listen to them, how fortunate to have such a wonderful life.

At the moment I am staying with a lawyer friend and I just sit and listen to her talking about her interests. It has been so lovely to spend time with her. She told me she cried whilst I was away as she missed me. I was touched by that.

I went to the shops a few days ago. I used to live in this suburb of Montmorency, to my amazement one of my first housemates I lived with was standing in the queue at the post office. I was so happy to see her. She actually gave me a hard time when I lived with her as she was so fussy and controlling, but that was gone. I just saw an old friend. We hugged and caught up. She had aged since I saw her but I saw a kindness in her eyes. I laughed to myself as it felt like my journey here in Melbourne is full circle, like I have completed some test. Then I walked up the road to this novelty store. I like all the clown toys in there (yes I am a clown). So bought some toys for my friend as I think the power of play should never leave us, and yes toys can be adult and innocent. So I started chatting to the people running the shop and told them I am a World Peace Clown and my trip around the world and all the amazing things I have seen (go to my other blog Clowning around the world for photos). Anyway, I am also a Rotary Peace Scholar, it seems the gentleman next to this lady was a District Governor (Rotary) and is having a conference in March. He was keen on the idea of having me come as entertainment. So I may receive an invite. I laughed at the Rotary connection as I had just about given up on Rotary. Whilst I applaud the good work they have done, I haven’t managed to find a Rotary Club that will dedicate to assisting me to get a peace education program up and running, so I have felt disappointed. I just smiled and allowed life to carry me. Maybe I get a call, maybe I don’t. I find I have much magic in my life and I am learning to let go and just see where it all takes me.

Next week I intend to finalise a long standing conflict in a peaceful and loving way. I will say good bye to that situation and then I leave to see my family then up to Sydney to work and on to Brisbane.

I know the flooding in Queensland (state of Australia) is most of the State. It is a natural disaster, the likes Australian’s have never seen. The floods are being caused by El Nino but I believe there is also activity or what my scientist friends states, as lack of activity from the Sun. So the problem is being generated by the Sun. How interesting is that. It has been devastating for people there and it is incredible to see roads I used to drive down completely submerged and the roofs of houses only visible. Incredible. However, we are moving into times where mother earth is making a point to all of us. It is time to change and we are about to experience major changes across the planet.

However, it we learn more compassion towards each other and we begin to value this planet, we will look at becoming better stewards, if we know our activities are causing harm, love would change that. Love has to be our guiding force not fear. So I will leave you with that beautiful thought.

Remember your Own True Nature, it is what is truly sustainable in the times ahead.

I am off to sleep to dream about the new earth.
