Moved to Brisbane suburb a New Home and Life

I have been moving for 11 months, at least once a week although I’ve had a few stints of 1 month in one place at a time. It has been an incredible journey. The world trip was to explore inner peace and being faced with constant change and facing fear. In truth I didn’t have much fear, I had moments where I wasn’t sure where I would stay. I had enough money for a few hostels but not the whole trip. I was on a tight budget. It always amazes me how life just picks you up, it is fascinating to not control life but to learn to just allow it. If you feel inspired to go this way or that, you do. I didn’t have a Lonely Planet or Map so just winged it pretty much.

I’ve been staying with friends for 2.5 weeks, they offered for me to come. It has been interesting living with them. They lived in the same place for 46 years. Something I can’t imagine. Yet they appear happy and content. Although always inner work needs to be done, one of them admitted to me he had issues. I could see that as he made negative comments. He had a critical mind that wants things a certain way as he sees, looking for what is not, rather than what is. I noted that. I understood and didn’t take it personally as I am becoming aware of what is mine and what is other people.

I don’t regret how my life has transpired, it has indeed been a journey. Some may regard it as highly insecure, for me it has been a journey of exploration and discovery. I couldn’t have done it with another person, I had to see life for myself.

It is interesting I have moved to a apartment, first time in 11 months I have a home. Interestingly the guy advertised his place as Darma on the Hill. I felt my friend would benefit from meeting him, so I wrote back and said the apartment is too expensive for me, but it would be good for you to meet my friend as she is also a Buddhist. Turned out the meeting was about me. My friend turned to me and said this. He then asked me if I would take a look. So I went up to the top of this hill (literally on a hill). It was a nice apartment and it gave me the view of Brisbane. Had lots of Buddha statues and prayer flags out the front. I can see he is having an inner transformation. He made the comment when he meditates he sends love out into the world. That was what attracted me. I also do that but how nice to be elevated in this way and then focus on world peace for the entire planet, gives you a more realistic perspective.

Anyway, the rent was still too high, and my feeling was moderate, I wasn’t jumping for joy. I did feel that maybe there was some fate in this meeting, just felt it intuitively. He is also a lecturer in Psychology from Griffith University exploring higher planes of consciousness, very interesting for him.

Anyway, I looked at a few places and the words ‘sending love to the people’ kept coming to me. I felt connection with that. So I wrote to him impulsively and said a lower offer for rent. He said to me later he was just speaking with a friend of his, a Buddhist Monk, who said take a lower price in relation to me. He then received my offer. So it was timely my offer (or was it?). Anyway, I felt to be fair to him, if I get a higher income I will give him the full amount but in the interim if he can give me the lower rent that would suffice. He agreed.

I moved in this week and the energy of this place is amazing. You can watch the clouds (and planes) drift passed. I love the higher perspective and the hills are great for walking. I really like the space and feel it is ideal of my peace work.

I also went out with a friend for the day who is starting a Chamber of Commerce. We went to some meetings. The first one to my surprise the Manager talked about the non profit part of her business called Step Up, it is to help homeless kids. I felt instantly interested. Apparently they have access to 18,000 kids. I am interested as a clown and educator to get involved. Turns out their Accounting franchise was set up to fund the non profit. This was very illuminating for me, as usually it is the other way, to be seen to be Corporate Responsibility. Giving back. Typically a hearts and minds marketing strategy. However, they were sincere so I told them about being a Peace Clown and my desire to help children. So you never know where that may lead.

A later meeting was also interesting in that I met an Angel Investor CEO, loved the word ‘angel’. I enthusiastically told her about my life and work and I was offered a large sum of money to speak at a conference next year. I didn’t even flinch when offered, as I don’t doubt I am worth it, I am interested in spreading the peace message which I would do for free or payment. It’s funny the money doesn’t drive me, it is definitely the fact that it is a tool. I note that inwardly. The money goes towards keeping me going (survival) and it will be funnelled into my peace work, of which my whole life is dedicated. So either way, great.

I am feeling drawn towards sustainability this year and believe it is intricately linked to values and peace. I see clearly we must deal with our own fears and obstacles to find peace and harmony. It is not about just being positive or a smiling Buddha, but to be genuinely joyful with inner abundance. That is the challenge, to not keep up appearances, but to find inner joy.

I am constantly feeling happy, I have moved away from a challenge I had in Melbourne, to realise unequivocally that it is about speaking truth, that is the real empowerment, it doesn’t matter at all if people agree with you or indeed don’t. What matters is that you are fair, honest and aware of others. I never seek to fight people, I seek to understand them and to give love unconditionally. Sometimes we are challenged because of our values, yet it is in employing values in problem solving that we rise above differences, without losing integrity and perhaps agree to disagree, but retaining the truth (authenticity). That is what I find, winning doesn’t matter at all, integrity is key.

That is the way of the clown, it is the way of peace.

With that I will sign off, have a beautiful day, make a decision and it will be so. We are always free to make a new choice. It it feels good (positive) go for it. But harm no-one.
