Greater Understandings

Our lives are like impressions in the sand. I had a woman contact me out of the blue and say she never forgot me. I was her business coach, yet my coaching was a mixture of philosophy and questioning her own truth. I also gave her some big glasses and a red nose. She was the manager of a nursing home. She told me cheerily that she still wears the glasses and nose, people think she is crazy. She said she thinks of me everyday.

I was really surprised that I had made such an impression. Yet we all do but don’t realise it. I felt really happy and glad I had inspired her. It is important if in conflict to try and see further than self interest, to peer into greater understandings, to find the way to unite. Sometimes it take two to tango, other times one. Forgiveness is for giving.

IMPRESSIONS IN THE SAND

Impressions are the footsteps
We make in each others minds,
Some leave deep impressions,
Others fade overtime.

Impressions provide an outline,
Substance is another matter,
Truth is indefinable,
For aspects can be seen from a range of perspectives,
And many blind people stand in front of
pink elephants,
Believing the impression is the fact,
Unless one is a seeker of the truth.

For the truth will set us free,
From limitations,
From judgements,
From misunderstandings that divide,

For we may be wrong,

And this is the only viewpoint
That expands dialogue,
And leads to forgiveness.

For we are only human,
And each seeks to do their best,
For everyone has a contribution to make
To greater understandings.
