Family Circle of Love

This is a poem dedicated to my Aunty Dallice. She had a deep love of nature and built a stone house in the mountains. She loved the gentleness of animals, her partner saw himself as a hunter, there was always a tension there. She named all the animals as she could feel their emotions in reality. Animals do feel, they do love and how beautiful to see them born and die free.

THE CIRCLE OF LOVE

Family is a circle,
A chain that can never be broken,
No matter the words,
No matter the disagreements,
No matter the circumstances,
Family is the mirror that reflects your self.

When one leaves,
The tree of the family grieves,
For hearts are breaking,
For she may never be seen,
But she is in a place,
That is green and wild and free,
For her nature was the trees, the birds,
the animals and the flowers,
she was the sweetest plum jam,
For she saw the innocence of nature as her closest friends,
For her heart was the murmuring stream,
Gently flowing through life,
And making every pasture a vibrant flower
In her garden of Eden

We feel such a love for the light in her eyes,
For each person that visited her home,
Was welcome with such hospitality and warmth,
As stories and jokes were told around the table,
She cooked on the pot belly,
For it was healthy and fulfilling,
For abundance was the generosity of her spirit.

Up in the mountains at Yay,
There is a fresh air,
For it is invigorating and alive,
The volcanic rocks formed boulders,
These were her nearest neighbours,
Within a living Stonehenge that was a circle,
There were mysteries and the unknown,
For she had a perspective that was higher,
An intellect that was inquiring,
That never forgot those who had loved her,
For she loved many,
For she was loyal and kind,
Honest and genuine,
And a friend not just family,
For she can be so proud of her children,
They will remember her wisdom,
For she was the rock in many lives,
She stood tall and firm,
She made decisions and reflected,
For she was responsible for her life,
And I know in my heart she is always with us,
For as the wind blows you can feel her whisper,
For she is smiling at you,
She will never leave those she loved,
As each is connected by the bonds of love,
And these are never broken.
Peace to you, for you are dearly loved
