BBC documentary on Smartphones and the Dark Side

I was using a smartphone last night and I could feel the radiation affect the righthand side of my front temporal lobe.  I know it is unhealthy.  I wonder about brain tumours.

This BBC documentary was very interesting as it investigates the addiction to smartphones.  You only need watch people fixated on their phones, not seeing anyone and ignoring the world. The issue of empathy is a serious one where people tune out others.  Issues like manners are just not present.  The older generation can see the problem in respect of young people unable to interact socially with others.  I learned from the documentary that they feel anxious. The issue of cyber bullying is a big one and from my perspective goes hand in hand.  There are other problems of hacking, tracking, surveillance, profiling and cyber attacks from a range of sources.

The smart cities proposition is worth investigating as it leads to interconnectivity, tracking and possible mind control which was raised in the documentary.  I believe these are real issues that could turn out world into the image of 1984 and it raises issues of the Matrix as a concept where we all plug in and becoming increasingly unconscious.  I am a peace educator and having travelled the world as a clown I know the power of interactions, social face to face experiences and communication skills.  We are likely to lose these skills as internet technologies ironically isolate people from others, transfix them into an unreal world and affect, in my view, the neural networks of the brain.

Something to deeply consider.

I am unplugging for sure, no more phone.
