PATHWAYS TO PEACE

  • VISION: To make Peace a practical and sustainable reality in the 21st century.
    MISSION: The mission of Pathways To Peace (PTP) is threefold:

    • To expand the comprehension and expression of “PEACE“ and the emerging Peacebuilding field through 8 practical pathways;

    • To build an integral movement for a Culture of Peace by fostering cooperation amongst organizations, networks, movements, groups and programs along diverse paths to Peace;

    WHAT WE DO

    Pathways To Peace works locally and globally to promote Peacebuilding, Education and to collaborate with other organizations in initiatives that help further our Culture of Peace Initiative (CPI). Our founder Avon Mattison developed CPI with then-Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations Robert Muller in 1983. The annual highlight of this initiative is the International Day of Peace (Peace Day), held annually on September 21. In addition to Peace Day, our signature initiative for 2015 is the launch of our first City Peace Commission.

    You can help PTP build a culture of Peace by donating, volunteering, attending events or simply sharing information on social media. Please follow us on Twitter and Facebook to stay up to date about initiatives and events to attend or volunteer for. If possible, make a donation, too, to support our major 2015 initiatives.
