Make Your Life a Message of Compassion and Wisdom
This is dedicated to Stephanie who was a participant on the Rotary Peace and Conflict Studies Program in Bangkok. She was certainly a light. Wisdom arrives when we’ve learned from our suffering. Life experience is the platform for a higher knowledge.
CIRCLE OF LIGHT
There is a flower in the garden,
Or is it an orchid,
Rising up in the orchard,
For this is the fruit,
From the bodhi tree,
Flowing over with compassion.
There are many seasons,
Some are cold,
Some are warm,
For they are always changing,
Yet the sun is always shining,
It may appear obscured,
But she is always there shining
In the eyes of her friends.
For this is the family,
A global village,
And she is sitting in the circle of her family,
She is laughing in harmony at discord,
For her contribution is devotion to the higher path,
Her tribe is beginning a spiritual renewal,
A revival for sensitivities make her clear,
Of what is healthy and what is not.
For those who are the leaders of the future,
Must be clear of excess baggage,
They must be able to go alone yet be together,
For they do not need support,
As they support others in their pursuits,
For they are the foundation of another way.
Stephanie is the teacher who is playing,
For life is a game plan,
For the process is a snow ball,
Ideas snowballing as we see we are one,
She is the teacher of self knowledge with a twinkle,
For life is asking her constant questions as she mingles,
Ill health is the silent messenger of balance,
Family is the message of comm-unity,
For she is a messenger of wisdom,
A living example sharing to care about each other,
This is living in the sweet aroma of the divine fragrance,
Floating frangipanes gently in the bowl of enlightenment,
For she is offering to bring love to the feet of many others,
And others will wash her feet,
For the circle of en-lighten-ment always returns peace,
To those who sit within the circle of a real life,
For life becomes real as you sit in silent retreat.
