Al Gore: Truth is Inconvenient to Industrial Averages

I saw this film tonight for the 7th time. I love this film and the sensitivity of Al Gore. I can feel how he personally feels for what is happening on the planet. A very rare and courageous politician. I couldn’t help but feel it was fortuitous that he didn’t win the election and I am sure there were illegalities around the Miami vote, however, fate did unfold. The Bush years I feel brought the world into a new consciousness of wars of aggression and the influence of the energy industry. I do feel that needed to happen for people to understand that they have to be the change. It was extremely inspiring to see a former Vice President presenting a slide show to save the planet. True service to humanity. This film was made around 2005 I wonder how the statistics have changed today. I can recommend A Blueprint for a Safer Planet by Nicholas Stern to update yourselves.

In the film I found it interesting how he referred to some good people in politics who are responding to the constituency not their own conscience. I did understand the quote about being influenced by the salary, I met a few people in power who demonstrated that to me. The other keystone for me was the scales with the gold bars on one side and the earth on the other and the decision of which one to save. I laugh at this as industry is still choosing the gold bar, as they know nothing else. This is a quantum leap for them for the first time since the Industrial Revolution, another major change. This is a Sustainability Revolution of such magnitude that it will either turn this ship around, or they may be unable to rise to the occasion. No matter the outcome it is our job to ensure it happens. I see those in denial and maintaining the same business lines as part of the old paradigm, the new paradigm will be reconnecting with our true nature. This is a heart based awakening, without doubt, we are in extraordinary times.

I highly recommend this film if you haven’t seen it, it will definitely inspire you to take action. Of course if you want a world that continues into an enlightened future, it is time NOW to get involved.

Evidence Is Clear

Carbon dioxide and other gases warm the surface of the planet naturally by trapping solar heat in the atmosphere. This is a good thing because it keeps our planet habitable. However, by burning fossil fuels such as coal, gas and oil and clearing forests we have dramatically increased the amount of carbon dioxide in the Earth’s atmosphere and temperatures are rising.

We’re already seeing changes. Glaciers are melting, plants and animals are being forced from their habitats, and the number of severe storms and droughts is increasing.
