Let Go of Control then You Will Know

This is probably the most important blog of all the blogs I have written. It appears simple but if applied, peace is certain on this planet. Just imagine how many people are holding onto past hurts, who refuse to speak to people due to a conflict years ago, or those who have judged others and that becomes conditional on their relationship.

It is not easy to let go of beliefs, to let go of ideas you hold as true. Yet to let go is to allow life to be as it is. This would be the hardest challenge. Byron Katie (www.thework.com) taught me this. I absolutely know that I must let go of beliefs I have not questioned or past hurts I still hold. Why do I want to do this? I wish to be free, I wish to create a greater space to serve humanity. Why do I want to do this? It is the greatest joy I can experience. I wish to live life to the fullest. Serving others is not about servitude it is about being available for them, it is about being yourself, it is about not judging them, it is simply being the presence of love. Why would I want that? To be in love with life is the most incredibly beautiful empowering feeling I’ve ever experienced, I love it, I feel absolutely fantastic that I can fly. Nothing higher than that and it is natural. That is why.

So definitely over the next year I am letting go of the past and I am going to work on mastering letting go of any negativity as the truth beneath it all is love. I wish to love and accept the world I am in, as reality is truth. That what is happening now is happening now. You can say that you wish it to be otherwise, but the truth is at this moment it is what it is and you have no power over it. It’s like looking at a cup and saying it is a cup without projecting ‘nice’, ‘ugly’ etc.

You have power over your own thoughts, and you can choose love or fear in any situation. To live in fearlessness is not courage (that requires overcoming fear) it is to have no fear. What is fear? false evidence appearing real. It is to see the world as it is and when you go deep, you see the kindness and an essence much greater than yourself. That is something you have to experience. I am not able to walk you through that. You have to make your own decisions about how you utilise this experience called life. For me I am living what I perceive as truth and happiness. However, I am clear that my truth is mine, yours is yours, neither is right or wrong, it just produces a quality of experience that serves me or you or not. How do I know it is beneficial? I ask myself if everyone did it what would happen? positive/negative outcomes. I decide what serves me, I cannot make that decision for anyone else. We have to travel our own path, no-one can walk if for you.

So with that, the reasons to let go are highlighted below. There is nothing about cowardice there or not being responsible or indeed allowing something immoral to happen. It is about letting go of control, of which in truth, we have no control of what happens outside us, we can indeed change ourselves and interestingly our world changes. Sounds abstract, but I can assure you your inner world is where you focus if you seriously want real change. Start with yourself and live by example. Importantly, let go of anything negative, you are just acting it out, not living the peace and happiness you say you want.

LET GO

by Colin Sisson

To Let Go does not mean to stop caring, it means I can’t do it for someone else.

To Let Go is not to cut myself off, it’s the realization I can’t control another.

To Let Go is not to enable but to allow learning from natural consequences.

To Let Go is to admit powerlessness which means the outcome is not in my hands.

To Let Go is not to try to change or blame another. It’s to make the most of myself

To Let Go is not to care for, but to care about.

To Let Go is not to fix, but to be supportive.

To Let Go is not to judge but allow another to be a human being.

To Let Go is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes but to allow others to affect their destinies.

To Let Go is not to deny but to accept.

To Let Go is not to nag, scold or argue, but instead to search out my own shortcomings and correct them.

To Let Go is not to criticize and regulate anybody but to try to become that dream I can be.

To Let Go is not to regret the past, but to grow and live for the future.

To Let Go is to fear less and love more.
