Peace is the direction we are all heading towards, we call it happiness. When we remember our true nature, we remember peace. They are one in the same. When we re-member each other, we find true community.

FOUNDATION OF PEACE

Peace is not an abstraction,
It is not a distraction from violence,
It is a fundamental direction,
That one can seek to choose,
If you believe that violence doesn’t work.

It is not cotton candy,
It is not hopeless ideals,
It is not the sphere of peaceniks,
It is not for radicals seeking change,
It is in the gentle space between argument,
It is the place where we become one,
For in each breath we live,
In each blink we see,
But what will we see
to live in peace with each other.

Skills are needed;
Truths must be told,
For we cannot just do what we want,
We can’t just force change,
We can’t just make the same mistakes,
We must look at the statistics,
For 1 trillion is spent on the military,
A mere fraction is spent on social justice,
For justice to be social,
We must be fair,
And seek to align our virtues with value,
For what is the value of life,
Compared to the destruction of life for power,
These are the stakes of the games we play,
For we are playing with life itself,
With impunity.
