The Science of Heart Based Living Is Walking The Talk

I wrote this tonight for a wonderful couple who have given me a place to stay for free for 1 month. They refused money from me and out of kindness gave me a home. I also cared for their house whilst they went on holiday. It gave me a place to rest, as I have been very tired. I realised after my world trip last year and travelling Australia this year I have been exhausted. It is the constant moving as I am not having a permanent home. I don’t choose to have one and find the moving very interesting. I am becoming more at peace when it is time to move, I don’t mind if I have a place or not. I still have my tent. Nonetheless, I experience nothing but kindness from those I am meeting. Without doubt, I trust the world and I believe in people. I see true community in sharing our homes with others. I have felt a deep gratitute and priviledge to be here.

This couple are both academics in the science/mathematics areas, both are interested in educating for compassion and humanity through science. There are many amazing people out there who are seeking a new future that is heart based. This is very encouraging as often science is viewed as rational. These senior lecturers encourage their students to look beyond the numbers into personal development and social consequences. One of them is a Buddhist, so meditation to expand awareness is a way of expanding knowledge. Moreover, practicing compassion and happiness is what moves us towards peace.

So I feel very happy and grateful to have two beautiful friends and to know their wonderful children. I have felt accepted by their family. Had I not ventured out of my comfort zone their message wouldn’t be known. So through their kindness to me I expand their kindness to you and this is the ripple that changes the world.

HEART BASED LIVING

They say the lily’s in the field neither toil nor spin,
For her grace is being present,
For she is present to be,
Available to see the bodhi tree,
Gives shelter to all,
The lotus opens up to those in need of light,
To watch in peace those who come and leave,
Home.

Peter means rock,
For he is stable and reliable,
He is salt of the earth,
Friendly and quick with a smile,
For his nature is accommodating,
Looking beyond mathematics and symbols,
To find the human dimension unaccounted for,
For it is not in what we think,
But delving into the heart of what we feel,
That provides a context for matter and anti-matter,
As the heart of truth is in the arrow of a scientist,
Aiming for what is real,
As life can be surreal,
And the brush stroke of an artist,
Colours in the negative space,
As Science and Art find their renaissance,
In a shared reality,
That is diversity yet unifying,
theory.

I see you both live by example,
And open your heart,
And your home,
Entrusting a stranger to your family,
Entrusting a key to your door,
For the key to trust is friendship,
And this is the root of happiness,
This is the tree of compassion,
For when one has no roof,
One trusts the root of the tree of life,
Supports one’s needs,
As life is abundant to all without censure,
So that one can give to the many.
As all are interconnected,
And free,
to choose.

So this is a tribute to you both,
As you are the heart that comes home,
To rest and reflect,
To sit and select,
To think and examine,
To question and postulate,
To observe and articulate,
For this is how you graduate from academia to intelligentsia,
For this is a mystery school of thought that feels for truth outside paradigms,
Allowing inquiry to flow into the ocean of true knowledge,
As it opens when you accept,
Exchanges as you change,
Looks for the loop of milos,
To find Venus de Milo,
A Greek goddess of love and beauty,
Penetrates mystery beyond thought,
For only beauty can see beyond any object,
When looking within to see
profundity,
For this is not in a statue depicting liberty
or a crescent hinting at the moon,
It is the deep eyes of the sea,
That beholds the love of all life,
Transporting through ocean currents,
Coral reefs of abundent beauty and diversity,
Looking to experience beauty beyond concepts,
To place rhyme before reason,
For this is the rhythm of life penetrating science,
As the philosophy of science finds art in form,
Questioning the answers to in-form,
Or change ones shape,
To find a love of truth falls in love
with the object and the viewer,
As deeper meanings surface,
reality.

The beauty I see is in my journey of peace,
As I learn what I will teach,
Experience what I will communicate,
Educating others in freedom and trust,
For my teachers in this life taught me I can trust life,
For to let go,
Is to let life know,
Is to surrender control of what is natural,
To resist doing and simply be present,
For the gift is I am able to see you in me,
As freedom meditates on the love of truth,
As an awakening awareness,
Observing each day as the present moment,
A jewel in many Niles,
To realise we are one …

Life,
Breath,
Family,
Home.

And as I reconnect with all my family,
I see I am the planet living,
That I belong to the one song,
For I know not from where I came,
Nor where I go towards,
I just live in perfect trust that all is as it should be,
As we are the freedom that has no beginning or ending,
As we learn that we are blending,
Transcending,
Returning to a single pointed light,
In the many nights of our darkness,
For it is this light that illuminates our world,
To see,
Our true humanity exists,
As the one in the many,
For it is the truth that sets us free,
To live in integrity as giving to live,
For this is the true heart based living,
That is the foundation for a new ecology,
Fusing Newtonian mechanics with Eckhart Tolle,
To find the sum of the parts are not separate,
Indeed they expand upon the whole,
For this is the wholeness that is complete,
The seat of the soul that doesn’t compete,
For we all play out part,
For Darwin was Creation,
And Creation naturally selected,
For truth and peace is living in harmony as diversity.
