An Appeal for All Human Life – ‘Don’t Resist Assist’
I think sometimes about all the walls erected in life because people don’t want to face truths. In truth, it is themselves they run from. I have listened to and witnessed lies endlessly whereby the refusal to look at one self is evident. The mind (ego) seeks to defend its position, to make the other wrong, to hide so it can’t be seen, for it lives in a separated state of consciousness. I have experienced this separation by psychological games and walls erected to my amazement from people I would expect to show higher values, to find, at the end of the day, self interest wins. Yet in truth no-one wins when injustice occurs, when we lower the threshold, when we live in a way that dishonours others we dishonour ourselves, as both are linked. Yet when there is a willingness for truth or resolution, the way is clear.
The new world will be the opposite of this, it will be a place of love and peace. This is not a dream or ideal, it is just over the horizon. You may have to trust me on this. We will experience upheaval first, that is how the new gains a foothold.
So I am saying goodbye to the old and welcoming the new.
An Appeal for My Life – ‘don’t resist assist’
I wrote to you to solve a problem,
I spoke openly to you to show honesty,
For I had been crying a long time,
And the mountain shadow of that pain,
Was engulfing me,
In my own gulf war.
In my innocence I loved a teacher,
In my foolishness I opened my heart,
It was given freely and without reservation,
For love conducted such a poetry,
A philosophy which gave my life a deeper meaning,
As truths sparkled and flickered in my inquiries,
The flame of passion opened many vistas,
Burning down the old and inflaming the new,
As I saw past horizons into a new future.
To care was to share,
But walls erected as my letters were vetted,
The ground began to move and shift,
As I had no sure footing of this rift,
Yet he would smile,
He stood close by,
His eyes speaking of hope,
Watching me through windows that weren’t so clear,
He must have fear of love?
Or love of fear?
For he made clear his interest as we stepped into the world without words,
But many walls were erected as this maize became the game,
Where there were many dead ends blocking the exit,
As equality and fairness was not the name of this game,
For silence is the game that has no name.
Yet innocence is revealed on walls,
Innocence seeks to understand the complexity of patterns,
Innocence seeks to resolve impossible stare-ways as possible,
But it was a revolving door,
That had no entrance or exit,
Just questions circling,
Directions vague and incomplete,
This was the game that had no end,
For it was never about peace.
As the sunlight of my surprise,
Faded into the darkness of lies,
The adult watched the adult game from a distance,
For it was not child’s play,
As it was neither friendly nor fun,
Just tenuous and confusing,
Ruminating and stirring,
For war against peace is the real game.
As I sent out distress calls,
My innocent love became a tourniquet of my own making,
My innocence died when I realized,
To stare at me was not to admire,
To smile at me was not warm,
To walk past me was only to be seen,
To not speak to me was to keep me guessing,
For this is a game where abuse is to win,
And it is an endless game of power and control,
I paid the toll and felt a silent scream for my role,
As this game was mean and cold,
What of beauty and love that is warm and celebrated?
To find myself as a high wire walker
balancing between happiness and sorrow,
As a dangerous edge,
For this became the barrow,
That burdened my aching heart,
Slowly tearing me apart,
As the weight of realization grew heavy,
As time stole the promise of realizing my dreams.
The pearls of poetry allowed me to stand in this rain,
Threading together a value chain,
Which bound me yet revealed true beauty,
Each pearl glimmered insights into dishonesty,
Closed shops,
Subterfuge,
Appearances,
Disinterest,
As the pearl glistened and I listened to the true voice,
I could see love as the answer to every question
asked by humanity,
Yet no-one knows love as the truth that shines,
In the innocence of a friend in disguise,
As reaching out meets hard walls,
Speaking out is silenced without recourse,
Crying out is seen as troubled discourse,
Yet there would be no trouble,
If love was the answer to every question.
For love shares, reveals, cares and heals,
It is the intent of community,
An intentional community of the future,
For to meet in the middle,
Is to stand in the place of understanding,
To greet with respect,
Is the place open to visibility,
To seek balance,
Is fairness that listens to both sides,
Impartial to deception,
Yet I was to find this was a closed door,
And my heart died again,
No matter my words,
No matter my inspiration,
It was seen as beneath consideration,
As there were more important matters calling,
Rather than a matter calling to be heard.
Falling into despair found no support,
The ending of ones life court no rapport,
It was not rendered worthy of a response,
For judgments had come down before I was asked,
As contempt became the knife not the gavel,
As my urgent messages were deleted,
My sentence never completed,
As I was jailed in isolation with no parole,
For habeas corpus is the right to justice,
Yet I am guilty for a crime I didn’t commit,
Yet I must submit to injustice,
To find peace.
I sought escape,
For I was losing my life,
Where was the kite of my hopes and dreams?
Cut loose as my screams for justice blurred my visions,
A silent spring of negative toxins,
Erected in walls with no windows,
That see no value in a human life,
No responsibility in finding what is right,
As I see my whole world crashing down,
I drown to seek silence from the agony,
Lifeless and empty I saw life with no meaning,
As my dreaming for peace in this world has capsized,
I realized,
No-one wants peace,
Or truth,
Or another way,
It is their way not the high way,
Which decides if you sink or swim.
At some point I have to accept this is what it is,
I am not in control of another’s notion,
I can only put a motion through emotions that are real,
That I see the truth that sets us free
as the seal of universal motifs,
To examine oneself for truth or lies,
To thyself be true,
Is to live authentically rather than through facades,
To value all humans as if your family member,
To respond reveals differences not opposition,
As the foundation of true learning and understanding is inquiry,
Without a verdict,
Nor edict gained through letters, degrees, emails or inner sanctums,
It is in the pleas for truth from which all respond in harmony,
For this is the new earth over the horizon,
That I have been gifted to see,
It is this truth that sets me free.
