New Blog starting today Clowning Around Australia
I will from time to time adding to this blog any peace related issues. I am leaving today for a trip into the unknown somewhat. However, that is not unusual with my life. I am embarking on a trip around Australia. I am travelling alone, couldn’t fit anyone in my car anyway unless they went up on the roof rack (if I had one). It is choka block with all my worldly possessions. Yet I still feel it is too much stuff.
So I will be writing predominantly on this new blog which you can access on my website www.worldpeacefull.com
I am going to explore my own response to living out of a tent, the possibility of getting work in schools teaching peace, conflict resolution and sustainability and also the characters I meet along the way. Should be an amazing journey.
I had a very interesting time here in Brisbane and had the distinct feeling I was remembering the past here (lived here 20 years ago) and the feeling of letting it go. Concluding the story here. I bumped into significant people here who I found closure with. I sense my journey is completing this year and next. I sense the world trip will complete when I get to Uluru (check map, centre of Australia). This is a sacred site and I knew when I returned from the world trip that the end of the trip was there. I will still continue on from there and what I am looking for I am not sure of, just enjoy the process.
My friend said to me today, just imagine all the people just doing the every day thing, living boring lives and you are off around Australia. I just said I can’t live in that way. I have to take a chance and see what happens. I will grow as a person and the aloneness is part of the growing up. Most women wouldn’t want to travel alone but I think it is time for women to explore the world and be their own person. I don’t have children and perhaps that is why I have the ability to up and move. I also had a childhood where I had freedom and I think that was important for creating in me a desire for adventure and a little risk taking. All that really is is facing fear. I don’t believe in sitting in a house watching films which fill you with fear. I don’t have a television and I make up my mind about the world given my experience. If fears come up I look with curiousity but they actually spur me to prove it wrong. I don’t think women are vulnerable nor weak, I think they are the opposite when they choose to be themselves.
Anyway, must do an entry in the new blog to kick this day off.
Have fun and be happy doing whatever you do. Just make sure you are true to yourself, that is the only thing that matters.
Much love,
Susan Carew
