The Sacred Seal of Universal Truth

THE SACRED SEAL OF UNIVERSAL TRUTH

I feel the temperature of our times, rising,

I feel the mountain shadow of our crimes, realising,

For the mirror of the world is our own reflection,

And when we look deeply we can truly see,

It is the truth that sets us free.

Who am I?

But your projection,

Have we ever met?

Did you forget?

For life is an image, a perception, a sound byte and a typed letter,

We seldom sit face to face and discuss what feels better,

We avoid uncomfortable conversations,

Yet as you step out of your comfort zone,

Into something new alone,

You open to possibilities moving beyond belief,

For life is alive and changing,

The deck chairs are constantly rearranging,

As we look from the rainbow of different angles,

To see angels differently,

Perhaps what you see in me,

Is you!

The question is – do you love your reflection?

Who am I?

I can never know,

For I have stayed below,

To rise above,

The status quo.

I have wanted to know what is true,

I have stepped over many boundaries,

I have shown who I am,

And waited…

For is fear true?

Is hesitation doubt in you?

Is courage mindful or mindless?

Does love allow?

And let go.

For what I do to you returns to me,

If I offer to be visible is that honesty?

If I think it through am I clever?

If I act spontaneously is that visible?

If I see with innocence is that simple?

For the simple truth is that we are family,

Our world is One,

Why conceal a smile when we can have fun?

I wonder at all the misunderstandings,

I contemplate the barriers of fear and hate,

To apologise and find it is too late,

So many unspoken regrets,

When we could just forget mistakes and misdemeanours,

For they were never the real deal,

To begin with.

We are all on a path of remembering,

We are all here to rediscover the power of love,

For it lives in a myriad of forms and spectrums,

And often it is etched in the face of an enemy,

Another teacher showing you what is not,

I wonder if we can step back and reserve judgement,

Indeed reverse evol-u-ti-on,

To no-it-u-love,

Perhaps this is the source of our origin?

Can we  look within for the false shadow on our walls,

As puppet shows can appear real,

Shadow puppets can loom large climbing walls to reach the ceiling,

Yet all define contrasts of dark and light,

Yet when we look for the positive space in the light,

The negative space appears,

As we see the silhouette is a silver lining,

For in every story there is a happy ending,

When seeking the true message not the plot,

For it is the silhouette of who you are not,

That you find the silver lining of who you really are,

And it is the love that shines beyond all dark and light dramas,

To highlight that only love is the real aroma,

It is the sacred seal I feel and see,

As a universal truth

that will set us all free.

Mohandas Gandhi

“An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind.”
