Sharing the Truth of Who You Are At Christmas

An Uncommon Gift

When we are living we are giving,

For life gives abundance,

In a symbiotic dance,

Distributing earth, wind, water and fire,

Inspiring to expire,

For the world is one breath,

The world is one life,

A living system that never dissipates,

It simply transfers energy,

For life is constantly yielding,

In an ecosystem that is joined by co-dependency,

That denies no need,

For the hardiest seed,

Germinates at boiling point,

As the tipping point is homeostasis,

A balancing act that needs no plot,

A simple rhythm giving as one receives,

In receiving one earns life to give of oneself.

The highest nature is without thought,

For giving comes spontaneously,

As one no longer sees the other,

But is giving constantly to life,

As life gives constantly in return,

For what you do for another,

You do for the self,

For this is the universal law of our nature.

In human societies,

Many congregate in groups,

Family, community, associations, nation states,

Linking belonging, shared interests, identity, ideas and biology,

In a common unity,

For community is the unity of the commons,

As the commune shares what is in common,

Where each participates in shared communion,

Ploughshares are the only shares that cultivate,

Common unions advocate strength in numbers,

For independence is isolation,

Interdependence gives so others receive,

And sharing is the gift of nature.

To flow with life is the stream of allowance,

For the stream does not resist the rocks,

And rocks are not obstacles,

They are simply changes to the current,

It is to learn to ride the white water,

To work with the changes,

And arrive at the headwaters,

For in the ocean there are many possibilities,

And life is the channel of infinite expression.

Why not share what makes us happy?

Why not share achievements and dreams?

To share is to give time,

To share is to give ideas,

To share is inclusive,

For whenever we reach out to share a word of kindness,

Or a simple thank you,

We add to the abundance that is the garden variety of life.

Why not be a rose instead of a thorn?

Why not add colour rather than blend in?

Why not show the world who you are and what you have done?

For it is not the tall poppy,

It is the sunflower that shares the possibilities of abundance,

Stories are the source of inspiration encouraging the shy to stand up and shine,

To be ridiculous and sublime,

Is the wine,

The elixir of life.

The art of happiness is giving love with good humour,

So why not give yourself away this Christmas,

Give your presence in your full splendour,

For you have much to give,

And this is the symbolic mass of christ,

Giving through the consciousness of love,

That seeks only to give beauty,

There is no greater gift one can give,

Then the truth of who you are.
