It is Time for An Intention for Real Peace in the Middle East

My inner feeling: What you resist persists what you look at disappears.  I feel this for all sides.  How to solve the problem, to disentangle the holding onto the past, to see clearly into the real kernel of conflict that holds this conflict in a space that escalates whilst innocent civilians suffer endlessly.  If violence worked then the Palestinians would have all left, but clearly it doesn’t.  Positions harden, resolve looks for ways to legitimise harassment for to look at one’s own conduct would render groups admitting to crimes or vulnerable.  How to establish truth and reconciliation?  I feel it has to be a global consensus that arises and an International Court of Justice arbitrates the dispute.  To allow power politics, strategic interests and alliances to become a barrier to peace is akin to allowing abuse to continue without intervention. We expect here in Australia for people to intervene to stop bullying, abuse and violence, yet internationally the world just looks the other way believing it is not possible to solve.  This is untrue, it is to inspire a willingness to discover that what you do to another returns to the self.  To realise that self interest can only be served by “best interest” as life will give to you what you give away.  So instead of taking land consider giving land, instead of incarcerating people considering free people, instead of using violence consider the possibilities of real peace arising from resolving inner conflict. That is the true fearlessness.  Look into culture and find where each side is ‘same same but different’, can respect arise out of this recognition or do people stubbornly hold onto demonised visions of the other which were never true?

We all have a choice.

I wonder how the world would respond if Israeli peacemakers and Palestinian peacemakers found the middle ground in the Middle East?  When one reaches to the other without an agenda, the other will indeed reach back. Life is a mirror. When dialogue starts and listening is still then people can be deeply heard, can one sit with the other and listen deeply to hear?  Can the other do the same?  This is heart based conflict resolution, which is their true nature. Then clarify to be clear what has been said is the message delivered. Then can they creatively seek a solution that has not been tried from a base of practicing trust, experiencing kindness and reaching for mutual understanding.  This is the maturity that fosters gentle approaches to conflict resolution that will disarm aggression.  Never underestimate the power of positive intent.  For always aggression is fearful of losing control as all do not look within their own discord to find the real source of the problem, that is why it never resolves.  What if the real lesson here is to let go of control and defence and allow the life process to inspire a solution?  Life naturally rebalances when you let go you will know.

When those involved intend peace to come, indeed it will as a apple falls from the tree at the right moment, for this is the nature of relativity and nature – for every cause there is an equal and opposite reaction.  This is indeed not only a physical law but a cosmic one.  Life responds to intent not words.

I see Jesus and Mohammad sitting together for the love of the people they serve.  That is what love does.  Love of family, children, communities and an end to revolving door conflicts that are endless wars of greed as need and revenge as honour.  This is a zero sum game that cannot be won by either side.

When peace is the true intent by peacemakers (who are not political or military but civilian), then the conflict issues with Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas would evaporate as the threat de-escalates and a vision for a permanent peace is made possible by good-will.  In truth this is gods-will, but I wonder who is listening to their inner truth.  Consciousness is raised (awareness) when peace becomes the intention not a catch phrase to delay truth from resolving the conflict. For only truth sets all free.  I send peace to all, for all are my family and my desire is their happiness and real security.

Bethlehem is the birthplace of Christ consciousness, this is unconditional love and love shares, cares, reveals and heals. Therefore, Jerusalem is to be shared.

I felt inspired as I wrote this.

Iran has censured Israel’s “criminal” actions and the illogical and unlawful US support for the regime, saying the continuation of resistance until full liberation of Palestine would play a leading role in the establishment of “lasting” peace in the Middle East.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Friday on the occasion of the Palestinian Land Day, an annual event to mark the killing of six Palestinians by Israeli forces during mass protests against Israel’s seizure of their land in 1976.

In late March 1976, Israeli troops killed six Palestinians, wounded 100 others and detained hundreds more who had held peaceful demonstrations against Israel’s confiscation of 21,000 dunams (5,189 acres) of their land. Palestinians, both at home and overseas, have been marking the event known as the Land Day with rallies and remembrance ever since.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran believes that the establishment of sustainable and fair peace in the region will only be possible through the continuation of resistance until complete end of Palestine’s occupation, the return of all [Palestinian] refugees to their homeland, determination of Palestine’s next system based on [holding] a referendum in the presence of all its main residents and finally the formation of a united Palestinian government with East Jerusalem al-Quds as its capital,” the statement said.

It added that the US government’s moves in violation of the United Nations Security Council and its support for the Israeli regime, which was against international law, prove “futility of efforts by some Arab countries in the region to normalize ties” with the Tel Aviv regime.

The US measures also show that “overt and covert efforts to establish relations with this regime cannot help restore the Palestinians’ rights and end the occupation of Arab-Islamic lands,” it said.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry further said US President Donald Trump’s decision to declare Jerusalem al-Quds as Israel’s “capital,” relocate its embassy to the disputed city and his recognition of Israel’s “sovereignty” over the occupied Golan Heights have all proved that Palestinians’ anti-Israel resistance is a “correct path and the Land Day is one of its symbols.”

The statement also described the Land Day as a “turning point” in the history, culture and resistance of Palestinians, saying it has played and would play an important role in boosting the Palestinian people’s resistance against the Israeli regime’s occupation.

A new report said Israel has so far occupied more than 85 percent or some 27,000 square kilometers of historical territories of Palestine in an expropriation process which still continues unabated.

Ola Awad, the president of the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS), announced the grim news in a report carried by the Palestinian Ma’an news agency on Thursday, the eve of the 43rd anniversary of the Land Day.
