Edward Snowden speaks about the Deep State and Can You Make a Difference

Visibility is information and this information is empowerment and this empowerment creates a space where people derive courage from the courage of others and feel confident to speak up.  Secrecy largely conceals and non disclosure ensures there are legal implications (or threats) if they speak up.  I recall Edward Snowden’s movie and how he risked his life to speak up, it was conscience that drove him and his recognition that civilians were being surveilled and there was no limit to this.  He says the intelligence community is out of control.   This secrecy is protected by national security but in truth it is a code word which validates secrecy.

The core issue is accountability.
