Change.org Petition to Stop Funding Cuts for Foodbank is New Power

This is an example of social change in respect of new power.  Change.org are promoting their volunteer Allan who has started a petition to save the funding for Foodbank.   This is about food security for those who cannot access food.

I noted that Uber were advertising donations to Foodbank here in Melbourne via Subway.  I go there for a $2 coffee as I can’t afford a $4 coffee.  I like to read and have coffee so I find ways to do this so I can focus on peace.  So this campaign is great.

I was very happy as I have been in need of food at times.  A friend helped me, I got a one off parcel of food and stayed with a friend.  I am becoming deeply aware of how important it is to reconnect community, to not give this lip service or PR, we don’t need your marketing it is love that makes this world go around, not greed.  I see the pretence in business to care for the homeless and those in poverty (I note they don’t refer to unemployed).  Much in my view is lip service not real.

I look forward to a world where the power of love overcomes the love of power.  Selfishness is a lose lose.

Just weeks out from Christmas, the Prime Minister is trying to slash the funding of Foodbank – a charity that provides for Australians in need and in crisis. This cut would put thousands of struggling Aussies, including children, at risk.
