2017 Leaders Roundtable of Cyber Security or Insecurity?

Australia’s International Cyber Strategy  https://dfat.gov.au/international-relations/themes/cyber-affairs/aices/index.html

I note the statement “….Australia remains committed to a peaceful online environment.”

I note that there is no mention of defence from either country and the narrative tends to focus on business and academia.  I would like to know exactly who was present at this meeting in the public interest.

Importantly, I note no mention of the Office of the Information Commissioner who would have an interest in privacy.

In my view as a peacemaker cyber surveillance exacerbates lack of trust and has come from defence not cooperation. the intent is not peace building it is defence of commercial and government interests inclusive of civilian surveillance. This in my view is a brave new world scenario.
