Lincoln’s Message is Equality Before the Law for All Ends Servitude

It is interesting where I am staying I keep passing Lincoln Street.  It keeps me focusing on Lincoln who was indeed a messenger not only to Americans but the world.  I feel him deeply.  I cried in this film as I saw his goodness against many nay sayers who put a negotiated peace ahead of freedom for millions of African Americans living in hell.  Principle before profit is implied in this blog.

In a world where so many are greedily working towards their own interests it is inspiring to remember men (and women) of history who were working selflessly for humanity and became the beacons shining a light on the highest aspects of humanity, that is why they are remembered.  Truth is truth. They are the ones in my dreams.

I recall standing at the Licoln memorial in Washington.  I barely knew who he was.  I read the words inscribed.  I felt an intense connection.

I send this to the US government and military and ask the question – Are you promoting United States democracy and equality by example based on Lincoln’s memorial to peace sitting silently in Washington? Or is the military used by those who care nothing for peace, balance and the true integrity of Americans or other citizens. For the US is being seen in a diminished light these days as many have obeyed orders knowing that it is not democracy or freedom.  Democratic process is critical to peace.  You cannot destroy communities and call this liberation, it is not.  It is a crime scene in truth.

I refer people to deeply contemplate Guantanamo Bay and the innocent people who were sweeped up as they had beards and on flimsy evidence who became enslaved in tiny cells for years, tortured, without rights or placed before a judge (Habeus Corpus).  Refer my blog about Brigadier General Jan Karpinksi https://wpas.worldpeacefull.com/2018/07/brigadier-general-jan-karpinski-set-up-over-abu-ghraib-prison/

I ask – are civilians war combatants when they are not in a army or militia and have committed no crime?

How can an occupying power designate after the fact combatant status without evidence on many detainees?  What status does this give those incarcerated?

Lincoln believed in equality before the law, he saw all people having the right to live in peace no matter differences.  The discrimination against the African American people reflected an intolerance to difference.  Australia can be put in that category as well given the indigenous here and the mentality during those times and it is still self evident today.

Every American and every citizen of the world, no matter how they are categorised, deserves fairness and to be treated equal and with dignity with the right to a fair hearing.  The key issue in the film was slavery as people were enslaved by the slave owners in the South as they used their labour on their properties.  The removal of equality opened up abuses and to regard the ‘other’ as sub human and eugenics was the science used to justify inequality by god fearing people. Of course Jesus message of unconditional love is not lived.  This is leading by example and walking the talk.  You cannot speak to the world of democracy and a Bill of Rights if it doesn’t not extend beyond US borders.  Moreover, these principles for consistency must apply in jails, to the unemployed, homeless and those deemed failures or suffering through deprivations.  The core principle is equality which is balance and ‘fairness’. This is a recognition that all are born equal.  All have specific journeys as they learn who they are.  I don’t know if those in power can imagine how powerful their example is and what it is communicating silently.

What I see today is increasing violence reflecting that we haven’t learned what Lincoln tried to teach through this own example and his utter devastation about warfare.  It is like there is a collective deafness in certain forums who benefit from this, where those different cannot be heard.  Democracy hears all voices equally. Until we can deeply listen to diversity we cannot solve these problems. I say in earnestness what is put out will return to those who refuse to listen.  It is a universal law – what you put out comes back – so it is in your interests to resolve all conflict with a mindset of equality and dignity.  This speaks more about you than showing the world injustice, cruelty and endless war doctrines to fuel the profits of the few over the happiness of the many when so much could be spent on resolving the world’s issues before this collapses.  I say this with great love to those at the epi-centre of this type of thinking.  I feel unconditional love which is why I am writing what I feel is truth to you.  I desire your happiness.  Remember your wise forefathers knew the path to your real prosperity as it always resided in inner values and integrity.  The world is losing real hope right now and many have concerns about the future as they witness what is happening.

Are you committed to real freedom or is it about the money?  Which inspires life, liberty and happiness?

When you awaken you will realise.

Here are some excerpts from the Movie directed by Stephen Spielberg that touched me.
