Change Yourself to Change the World

People lament at the shape of the world. Well it is in the image of fear for many. In truth the world is pure love. It has nothing to do with human thought processes, although human thoughts shape the world through focusing on need, greed, and extracting what they can take from others, the world, life. yet in truth their true abundance is in the question – what can I give? There is another question which leads you to the joy of life and it is ….

What do I truly want?

When you get clear on your desires in life then there is a magic mystical chord or thread that leads you silently to your goals. You can do it, just believe and then you will see.

We are the perceivers of life. We sit there and within us is education, family influences, television, books, teachers, friends, movies, games all adding into the mix of how you work out the world. However, if these influences are negative, fearful, horrifying and full of shadows then you will notice the shadows not the walls which are both of your own making. Remember believe and you will see.

If we want to change ourselves, we have to start to focus on more sleep, watching what we take in to our consciousness, bodies, what thoughts we think as this can give you happiness, confidence and fun or take it away through a downward spiral of negative thoughts that will eventually shut you off from the very joy that surrounds you in every moment.

How do military people see the world. Well their training will see armaments, enemies, strategies, games, money trails, drugs, surveillance, satellites, listening posts, all of this is a form of information gathering but through a filter of LOOKING FOR THE ENEMY. If it is true to say what you think about you attract, then you attract enemies? How about that? you then become the enemy of the other, as you become what you think about. This is called the law of attraction, it is a universal law and it works whether you agree or not. It was not made by humans, it is universal and made by the very energy that creates worlds. Sound like fantasy, I can assure you it is not.

So if we want to stop terrorism, what to do? Well you start to look at where you are similar with the alleged enemy. Change the language and see there is a conflict, look at the problem of what is fuelling the conflict? What are their real needs? What do they fear? What do that desire? It is not about knowing the enemy as Scott Ritter stated, it is about knowing the human and the needs driving the unconscious fears that create a conflict situation. Do research into the culture, the beliefs, the myths, what is honour what is defeat? Look at the ego? Look at face saving ways to move them to a place of not only negotiation but resolution. I see resolution as the key to conflict worldwide. Not bargaining, trading off to get agreement like it is a poker game but actually driving to the heart of the real problem and finding ways to alleviate the deep fears driving it. Then we see ourselves as problems solvers not enemies and how to find common ground to unite rather than lines of division. The latter is far more expensive and there is a high price to pay if we do not learn resolution. Look at nuclear weapons in the hands of those with nothing to lose. So if you don’t want a sub-zero point outcome then start to stand in the shoes of the other, get to really know them, talk to their people, talk to families, appeal to the common human.

I notice the Australian Government is moving towards trade with Iraq, I see this as a wise move. Let’s hope we move out of terrorist rhetoric which actually creates it and attracts it, to solving problems – clearly the problem is seen as poverty, men aimless and joining causes to feel power and in being paid to join militias. So if you focus on trade, partnerships, negotiating as equals, this can create a space for peace to grow. Create friendships, start to really help the poor children, support mothers and create the environment of safety and security, then peace or the dove starts to land in places regarded as no go zones. Love in its purist form is the greatest transformer of negativity into peaceful reconciliation. I use the word love a lot in my blogs because the big men balk at it, the women think it is unprofessional, others say motherhood, soft, weak, vulnerable, yet as Gandhi wisely observed it is a force more powerful than any nuclear device. His nonviolent activism was really about learning to love the other despite what they do and standing firm in truth. he put up the mirror so the other could see themselves, not him. He didn’t retaliate so they could experience their own violence. This is the power of nonviolence and love. It is far more powerful than a fully armed dictator dominating his enemy in order to have short term gains. Love is an energy that is mystical, transformative, alchemical, profound it will inspire the most incredible courage, selflessness, fearlessness because it is no longer identified with the small ego self that feels insecure. It identifies with the whole, the Oneness of life and joins with it. When you join with life as One nothing can defeat you as it is so powerful that all magnetically is drawn to this loving power. Jesus had it, Mohammad had it, Buddha had it, Lao Tzu had it and Mother Mary and the list is endless of those who led with love.

We have much work to turn around the myth of strength as violence. There is nothing weaker than using a gun to shoot someone. It is far harder to sit down and actually face what upsets you with the one you perceive as the enemy and really tackle the emotional landscape. That is where the real wars start and finish. The outer manifestation is really the result of imaginings and unquestioned fears culminating in battlefields, family war zones, clans fighting, political divisions and so on. Think of division and you will see the ego at play finding an enemy. It plays out in every theatre of life. It is just in war zones they can actually kill many people because the rule of law is not applied, in fact there are no rules but to win. This is an old paradigm which can no longer survive as others will come up with weapons of mass destruction and in the end it is a zero sum game, no winners. That was the psychology of the threat posed by the nuclear arms race. it was a game of chicken. There was rhetoric of coming to flashpoints, as they count down defcon 3,2,1 as a way of intimidating the other that they both lose if they launch. This was called MAD Mutually Assured Destruction, it was a threat that if they go ahead no one wins. Thankfully no-one tested the boundary. Although nuclear weapons were dropped on Japan so the genie is indeed out of the bottle.

There are karmic issues at play as well. If you see life as not ending at death then you realise we are in a theatre of a cosmic dimension. Yes I will step into something a little controversial although in every family there are ghost stories, in every culture there is a story about the other side as real. Many mysteries have been talked about. So if we consider that as a real possibility then we may live many lives. Perhaps we are in a role play in this life playing out some game of karma. What if the person who was a soldier was a victim in a past life. What if they are experiencing the power this time around. What seems to be the case is that if we are indeed One – that is one consciousness manifesting in myriad forms well then we have been it all. It is true to say what you do to another you do to yourself. If you believed that what you put out comes back, definitely would you make the decision to do the deceptive act, would you hurt the other knowingly if you truly knew that like a boomerang it comes straight back to you. Of course killing a person is not natural and the pain of doing this remains with person they may try and cover it through alcohol and drugs, sex or other distractions but ultimately at night when quiet the truth comes back and the feeling of powerlessness arises as the person can’t take back what is done. Guilt becomes the nightly bedfellow.

So we may want to contemplate what we do to others we do to ourselves. Gandhi inspired ‘be the change you wish to see in the world’ this translates into be what it is you want to experience. Law of attraction of course will naturally arrange it. What you focus on you create (overtime, not instantly). You have to really feel, imagine and make real as the universe doesn’t know the difference between the physical and non-physical worlds. This universal mind is consciousness and everything is a created reality. Think of that. It is birthed in time and dies in time. Life, death, rebirth is a continuous wheel of an eternal life that continues. If you come to life from this perspective you will see literally when you change yourself you change the world.

What changes will you make. Why not record it for a month. Monitor your thoughts, just get familiar with your own story and then change it for a month. Guaranteed your life will change in amazing ways.

That is how powerful we all are.

May your day be full of love, peace, happiness, hearing the birds, seeing the butterflies, smelling the breeze and looking at this natural wonder before your eyes. Cherish it as it is indeed fleeting and your life is precious.

Peace to you,

A silly Peace Clown (feeling inspired today)
