A Divided Road Leads Nowhere

A DIVIDED ROAD LEADS NOWHERE

A journey of a thousand miles,

Is the path less travelled,

Yet I am choosing to leave

The weather beaten track.

I stand on the Bibbulman track,

Bibbulman (Noongar) people walked long distances,

I close my eyes and feel the rain falling as I face my pain,

I dream of oneness and harmony,

With all life.

The Wiradjuri dream the Bunjil gives guidance to those in need when facing a fearsome time,

In my fearsome time there was no guidance to receive as I was not believed,

The sublime felt unkind as my need was not freed in truth.

The Noongar dream of the Waugyl a rainbow serpent – the giver of life,

Water is nourishment and the rainbow is seen when the spirit moves,

I had to believe at the end of the rainbow is the fool’s gold,

I asked – will I be granted 3 wishes?

Respect
Resolution
Reconciliation

An equilateral triangle of strength & balance,

For this was the message stick sent long ago in search of peace treatise,

I had to believe in humanities especially when closed down,

I waited without a sound to explore this foreign landscape,

A harsh terrain without any shelter,

I waited for the call to be answered,

War or peace?

Law or mediation?

Compliance or compassion?

Which road would be chosen?

One path leads to a fearsome time,

The other nourishes all life in time.

For you have to walk in my shoes to understand the lay of my land,

The underground waters run deep,

Poetry is the spring deserting drought for real meaning,

Hearing a call to country is to know it is not nationalism,

It is to respect the oneness of life and seek harmony,

For this is the mission statement that all can re-member in comm-unity,

It requires no leadership only genuine guidance when in need as wisdom is a creed,

Empowering all to find their way in friendship is the sustainable seed,

That grows rather than blows away re-new-able seeds as weeds,

For greed is not the seed that sustains all life,

For good!
