One World: There Are No Strangers Only Potential Friends

It is interesting to live in a society that is kept so busy, that we see our own interests above that of others. I meet many who have good intentions but don’t live it. It is in the living of these higher intentions that greatness can manifest and those voices who can show another way, can arise. I absolutely know as a clown we are one family but I marvel at how few truly see this. For what we do for another we do for ourselves. After more research into the industrial system I had a realisation that what we focus on we become. If we create mechanistic structures in order to process animals, commodities or whatever, very soon we start to see workers in the same light, we see each as objects. One is an object that is profit, the other is an object to be used to process what we want. We lose sight of humanity as we learn to justify detachment, pollution, corruption and power dynamics. In the end we lose ourselves. The latter is the greatest loss.

I listened to an indigenous person this morning who said something like ‘they don’t understand their connection to the earth, they extract from the earth and don’t realise they are destroying themselves in the long run’. There was so much wisdom inherent in indigenous people as they lived directly on the land. What I found fascinating about this indigenous person was that he knew that mining was toxic, they warned their people to not go near the deposits (before european occupation). Today we just see minerals in the ground and we exploit them for profit, we do the same to each other. We have very narrow views of our world. When I travelled the world I saw every person as my family. I chose to see each country as my own and when I looked at the land I saw it as my land in the sense of connection not ownership. I saw the oneness of all things. Indeed everything is connected every person, animal, ecosystem and what one does, sends a ripple out felt across the planet and indeed cosmos, can you believe that? No-one is insignificant and what we believe and do as groups has huge ramifications for the balance of the planet. Until we see ourselves as one with all of it, we can see none of it.
