Are You Masking The Truth With A Friendly Smile

I overview my life,
And it appears as if a movie,
For each is a star playing
their part.

Since a child I see the potential,
In each face,
Yet what is reflected back to me,
Is a belief that life is arduous,
Life is unkind,
Life is career,
Life is parenthood,
Whilst these are all aspects of life,
The life I see in my heart,
Is the life of joy,
And that life is possible,
When each extend their joy to the other.

It is true to say that life’s challenges
appear dark,
And life’s joys appear light,
Yet one reflects the other,
For we can not know the goodness,
Without the sadness,
Yet sometimes sadness can get too much,
And you yearn for light relief,
A kind face,
Who comes to take your hand,
With eyes that understand,
With no agenda,
Just friendship,
I have found this the rarest diamond,
Yet I carry this diamond,
Within me.

My life is dedicated to peace,
Within myself and in the world,
There are no peacemakers that carry a mandate,
Of having reached the pinnacle,
Many fall many times,
For when one is a true seeker,
Life becomes tough as you must reach for that potential,
You must walk the talk,
And it is not easy,
For many are masking truth with friendly smiles.

But I do believe in trying,
No matter the judgement,
No matter the gossip,
No matter the unkind thoughts,
For if you cannot be true to yourself,
Then the precious diamond is lost
forever.

My friendship has always been honest,
My friendship has always been there,
For I accept each person I meet,
Yet it is I that is not accepted as I am,
Yet there is nothing I can do,
For I believe in myself,
How can I change what I like.

For I like honesty,
I like to question,
I like courage,
I like non judgement,
I like creativity,
I like honour,
I like fun.
