Ancient Forest Stewardship For Your Home
I am living in a forested area, I am conscious of the fact that my life has only known city life. I know nothing of the names of the plants, I have a rudimentary knowledge of the birds. I suspect for many on the planet who consume the most, would be in this state of ignorance. However, as I walk there is an intuitive part of myself that reaches out to the natural world with wonder, with a sense of knowing and appreciation. I do not assume the species of whom I walk past do not sense my presence. I feel a sense of peace pervading me and I can feel the balance of what is. These days I send out my own feeling of love as I ground myself walking within the natural world and finding deep within myself a calling to return to nature. I sense as we watch rainforests disappear at the rate of a football field every 2 seconds there is a natural part of ourselves that is dying. For as the natural world dies ours dies, yet the real extinction will come to us first. The planet knows how to sustain itself, it is human’s that do not. So this is a message to those who feel powerless, you aren’t. Start seeking out good information on the internet and find out about your true nature, for it is you, you are saving.

In the short film is a powerful thought, if a logger came and destroyed your home how would you feel? can you place yourself in the reality of an animal who loses its home? Do you think they feel? I can assure you they do. Unlike you, it takes time for 1,000 year old trees to grow and ancient ecosystems to recover. Something to consider from our comfortable home with our computer in front of us. Imagine all the resources used in those items around you now. That is how we all contribute to the problem but we can choose to become stewards and seek for balanced solutions. Start opening your eyes and look around you, that is where you start.
