The Oasis of Friendship

THE OASIS

In the mirage of your smile,
It was your oasis that was real,
The desert was surreal,
For I was not lost and thirsty,
I was given shelter,
I was given food,
I was given friendship,
I was given a friends-ship,
Which kept my dreams buoyant and afloat.

Home is where the heart is,
And I found a home,
And a family,
That has value,
For you value the human family over profit,
You do not profit from service,
Yet your service will bring you profits,
Beyond what you conceive,
For you will receive an abundance,
For this is the currency,
It is a gold standard,
For it is priceless,
Its value rises as inflation becomes hyper,
For your reputation is a medium of exchange,
That is acceptable,
For your word is your bond,
And this bond has a yield,
It has a dividend,
That cannot be divided.

You are my dearest friend,
So many moments unveiled a new world,
For we are explorers seeking navigation,
From an ancient tradition,
There is no path where we are going,
The light in your eyes,
Casts a beacon like a sunrise,
As you become embroiled in new ideas,
Crashing down on the rocks of old beliefs,
For water penetrates every crack,
Reshapes the hardest notion,
For the ocean is rich with life.

My gratitude for your kindness,
Swims in the calm waters of a silent retreat,
For I have been given a haven,
A space to develop my ideas,
For the map of the future is not written,
Yet I spend many hours feeling the currents,
Determining the future course,
For I am a teacher,
And life is my school,
For I am learning every lesson,
Every hardship crashes upon the ego,
Like a cracking shell,
I am moving past boundaries,
That appear risqué,
For pioneers must take risks,
In order to face what is feared.

So my friend,
This is a parting of the ways,
For you have parted the sea,
To give a path to me,
And I am at a crossroads,
You are at a junction,
For to return to Eden is the intention,
For Maya is the veil,
Not an illusion,
Yet beyond the veil you will traverse,
In the verses of Hebrew,
A sacred pact,
Lives through the journey,
For the journey lives,
Through you,
And the Holy Grail,
Is the brail of the human touch,
For it is tender,
It is soft,
It reads between the lines without seeing,
For to not look gives sight,
To feel is in-sight,
For beyond the veil is a new vision,
That you will see with clarity,
For the past, present and future,
Is the cross roads,
For to cross over,
Is the presence of one.
