Are You Climbing the Evolutionary Ladder or Standing Still?

I wrote this 5 years ago. It is relevant today. Are you going to climb (grow) or remain where you are?

We are all choosing our future. It is a collective choice. Indeed Carl Jung the Swiss Psychoanalyst framed the notion of a collective unconscious. When we choose to climb we become conscious of our responsibility and shaping of the future.

EVOLUTIONARY LADDER

Are you wondering?
Are you stopping to think?
Are you on the brink?
Of a new era.

For the tectonic plates are shifting,
The wind has changed,
The seasons rearranged,
For uniform temperatures,
Are a fever,
For the natural world is dying,
The fields are exhausted,
The waters discoloured,
The air tainted with elements,
For the spanner in the works,
Has not worked,
A new code has been written,
The program has changed,
Uncontrolled mutations,
Are the new arrhythmia,
For the heart is under attack,
From its own system.

A new way of being,
Lies beneath the snow,
It is the new seed,
It is rewired,
For nature has contingencies,
It is cultivating a resistance,
That does not resist,
For to resist persists,
To look at disappears.

The spiritual is not cosmic,
The esoteric is not a mystery,
It is a natural inheritance
That has been suppressed by fear,
It permeates our every thought,
Many are looking the other way,
Yet the guardians are not serious,
The stewards are aware,
They are waiting for time,
To catch up.

For it is the moment to look within,
For the future is waiting to be born,
To accept responsibility,
For this is real power,
To make the impossible possible,
To balance what is unstable,
To reconnect the family,
For it is falling apart under the strain,
Playing a game with no limits,
Sets the stage for a sad ending,
The drama will finish,
The play will close,
For the seasons are over,
The ice caps are ponds,
Where there is no reflection,
Just acceptance for nothing changed,
In truth.

Conflict resolution attempts to resolve conflict,
Destruction is conflict within,
For frustration bubbles up from the geyser,
The volcano blows,
For much has been repressed and unexpressed,
Yet one must find a safety valve,
Another way of releasing tension,
For it is the way we think that throws us into the mire
Of great confusion,
Yet the fusion will come when one looks at the self,
For conflict exists there,
It is not the other
That we should blame,
That we should seek to resolve our problem,
It exists in the unhealed wound,
Festering and sore,
This is the universal law that must be addressed,
Thus conflict resolution is the removal of negative patterns,
It is the development of empathy,
Identification with the other as the self,
For when one looks in the mirror,
One is less likely to throw stones,
At other fragile windows.

The journey is personal,
The journey is up close,
So make up your mind,
Re-make your beliefs,
For responsibility is what you keep,
The rest you throw out,
And start again,
From the emptiness,
New inspirations emerge,
For we are not alone in this drama,
Help is at the tip of your tongue,
When you choose,
For you are young,
Which rung do you stand on?
On the evolutionary ladder,
For these are the steps,
That pave the way
for a new earth,
in time.
