Growing Confusion

GROWING CONFUSION

The light is fading,
I feel a bitter cold,
the faces are impassive,
unfeeling,
I feel so old.

Closing my eyes,
resting where the universe lies,
my energy carried on tides of
yang and yin,
dismissing the veil,
shows me where I’ve been.

Observing millions of faces,
flickering past in waves of time,
consciousness retreating fast,
those lives are really mine.

Falling deeper
into the cells of ancient memories,
divided,
uncontrollable,
enlightened,
avoidable,
further into the revine of the sublime,
no more faces,
the emotion leaves no traces,
the silence,
the music of my soul,
no words,
I don’t feel cold.

Rising up,
I am above the sprawl,
St Paul’s Cathedral dominates us all,
my eyes are drawn to the past,
gliding smoothly back and forth across the glass,
the face of the future bears a calculated contrast,
the icy wind whistles through the cobbled streets,
silent shadows of self containment,
their eyes never meet,
eeking out an existence in the human habitat,
fear and uncertainty,
guarantee that.

In every moment
and in very small ways,
you will glimpse their beauty,
showered with the sun of rays,
oak trees are natures beacon
on my path,
in darkness there is growth,
only now I begin to laugh.
