Airship to Australia

When I was travelling around the world I went to a private Art School in Chicago, USA to find a student who would clown with me. So I told a group of students what I planned to do and asked who would like to be a clown with me. Tola put up his hand and I arranged to meet him at the school some days later and he came clowning with me.

We had a great time at the Jazz festival near the giant silver bean, I met the locals and taught a few to juggle, we just chatted with folks as we went and gave hugs. We had a coffee and met people in the coffee shop and debriefed about the day. Tola said to me ‘it is hard work’, yep clowning is hard, as you give attention to everyone you meet. I love it, he found it exhausting, sometimes I have as well. It was his first time and he was very brave. We went and got changed and then Tola walked me to the train.

It was a nice experience. Anyway he sent me a song he wrote and I found the words interesting and thought I would post them in dedication to my time with him. I didn’t know he was planning to come to Australia. Let’s hope his scenario doesn’t come true.

These are Tola’s words:

Both chastised and lauded as philosophy in pop format, the thematic
lexicon includes artificial intelligence, post-humanism,
consciousness, the social impact of technology, animism, dichotomy,
mayan prophecy, the future, solar powered air transport, global
warming, post-apocalyptic extraterrestrial-inhibited dystopic
landscapes, the firmament, corporate domination, kanye west,
post-modernity, revolution, science-fiction, reincarnation,
permaculture, peak oil, economic collapse, nuclear power, whole foods,
liver-transplants, virtual reality, various philosophers, scientism,
the beginning of humanity and many more exciting subjects.

All these sticky topics are addressed with the aid of some catchy
synth lines and excessive use of vocal harmony. I’ve spent countless
hours bringing this album to fruition and hope you enjoy it, if you

AIRSHIP

i’m gonna fly to australia in my brand new airship
and the nuclear fallout don’t touch me cause i got twelve strands of dna
and my extraterrestrial homeboys will show me the way
and i just wonder why it was me who got to stay

but the sunlight feels the same
even in its final days

and every day i remember the centuries of silence
but i got my saccharine terraformed private island
solar wind caresses my cheek when i brush my electroplated teeth
and it’s too blissful to make me want to escape my fate

but the sunlight feels the same
even in its final days
