The Art of Giving is the Mosaic of Change
The message of Gandhi, he was a clown but contended he was no artist. Although nonviolence was indeed artistic, as it came from the heart. Who would have thought the salt march would have proved to be the greatest challenge to the British empire, all he did was pick up some salt. That very gesture was one of freedom, it put salt in the wound if you like, by revealing the laws had no power, this is what is meant by the emperor has no clothes. Listening to truth within is what shifts the mosaic.
THE ART OF GIVING
Kishu,
Means god will kiss you,
My gift to you is from the heart
Of my own truth,
For to be true to you,
I must be true to myself.
We share a mosaic,
It is the shifting sands of change,
For each grain is a moment,
And the moment is a sculpture,
Within which only the artist can interpret the shape,
And each is an artist in their own painting,
For we choose the colours,
From which we see contrasts,
Which form the pearl of reason,
We choose the canvas as the background from where we live,
We choose the contextual field from which we examine,
The flavour we will absorb as sweet or sour,
For the artist is post modernist, realist or surreal,
Depending on the way she chooses to see,
For he has the pallet from which to create a master piece.
The painting is the external world,
The creative intention is the inner artist,
From the inner landscape the outer is seen,
And one may seek to learn from the outer,
Or turn to the inner for illumination,
As inspiration is the unity in diversity,
It is the faith that diversity provides contrasting truths,
Same same yet different,
Yet the greatest artist is painting rainbows,
The prism is the kaleidoscope of colours,
Across time traveling at the speed of light,
Becomes one pinpoint of light,
For in truth we are one colour reflecting the other,
And what you see in another,
Is reflected in the self,
Otherwise it cannot be seen,
For knowledge is not acquired it is remembered.
There are many analogies of the mirror,
There are many actors on the stage,
And each has a role in your life,
It may be momentary,
It may be transitory,
It may be permanent,
Yet it is perfect,
For there are no coincidences,
And each is a messenger.
It is a question of listening,
It is not in the intellectual argument,
For that distracts from the flow,
As words become competition,
Ideas become challenge,
Yet the greatest challenge is silence,
For each is your teacher,
And the philosopher is always the student.
Life is dynamic and changing,
And as one changes,
One becomes open to new ideas,
As one argues one deepens the truth of old ideas,
Yet if one can make space,
The arrow of truth steals the silence,
Drawing one deeper into private contemplation,
Clarity is the gavel of justice,
For one is weighing the evidence,
Yet when information is incomplete,
One must trust inner direction as the compass that leads home.
It is then that the private becomes public,
For truth must become visible,
And each has their moment of truth,
Under the gaze of public scrutiny,
For there are no walls in truth,
When you know the truth sets you free,
I believe this was the message of Gandhi.
