Teaching Peace is Teaching Our True Nature
I had a situation where I felt an injustice and tried to get official help to back my rights. I found justice has become guidelines, this means there is no ability to enforce rights just ask nicely for people to give them. I do smile when I write this as it is quite amusing. It is the notion of being seen to be fair. Yet fairness is a value you feel intrinsically or you don’t. Some people just seek their own interests or follow their own organisational guidelines, but ethics does not come into it.
Yet just imagine a world where we actually were raised with values that aligned with our true nature, what would the world be like. An amazing place. We still think we can make up the rules and if those rules are unjust it is fine, providing their is no-one to impose ethics. The rules from what I can understand are processes, steps and policies, yet human lives are not that, they are of the highest value.
Anyway, I sent this poem to the two key parties involved, who knows maybe it gets through. Do you believe in miracles, I do! Stay true to yourself no matter the odds is my advice. It is not about winning it is about being true to your own nature, and if truth is the criteria of success, then I have been successful.
For me love is god and love is my truth. I feel truth as an incredible beauty …
HOW TO TEACH PEACE
I wonder…
How do we teach peace to the world?
when we are not in peace,
is the real crisis personal or political?
many read credible news sources,
as information is seen as awareness,
yet is understanding each other awareness?
when awareness is the power of love,
not the love of power,
that motivates ones actions,
for most defend their towers by silence or conflict,
choosing dialogue with some and not with others,
yet what if every dialogue changed the world?
as you change the world changes.
How many sit down to bring down the walls of personal division?
division is just another word for confusion,
who truly explores their own inner wars and fears?
for peace one must look inside our fortress constructed from
beliefs, judgements and unquestioned attitudes to ask…
is it true?
what can I learn?
how do we build a bridge rather than a wall?
as forgiveness is truly for-giving,
when we give we receive,
the truth reflected in the mirror of our own inquiry.
Just imagine a world without judgement,
where there were no walls in freedom,
where we saw each other as a brother or sister,
and we accepted diversity as different ways to see,
that there is no muslim, christian or buddhist,
no us or them,
just people longing to know god,
and live the good life.
Yet how many deeply see god as love?
and live it,
or love as nature,
and pre-serve it?
or love as humour,
and find joy in it?
that is the only religion I follow,
for i will always seek self understanding in conflict,
and that is why I ask for resolution,
my door will always be open as I have no desire to keep out the other,
I will always try to offer a warm home as the olive branch,
even if all turn away or remain silent,
for it is my way to bring love to the table,
to share a conversation illuminates understanding,
it is my way to show my cards and not hide them,
it is the way as the truth I desire to see,
and in the end,
it will set us all free,
to live happily,
together.
The wise say: the love you withhold is the pain you carry,
this is the secret garden of world peace,
the greatest courage is to show your hands and reveal your face to all,
this is the gesture of peace making,
secrecy can never exist in a transparent life,
and transparency is honesty made visible,
and this is the highest love,
this is god made manifest,
As the love of your life.
peace to you.
