My Testimony to Peace

You bring me hope. Real hope.

MY TESTIMONY

This is my testimony to truth,
For my heart is my roof,
It is my protection,
For I am learning to become fearless,
For it is fear that is less,
For to love is more,
And this is the true testimony of my life.

I have a dream of peace,
In fact it was peace that I found in a dream,
Totally unexpected,
Totally by surprise,
I dreamed I taught peace to children,
A new beginning,
My life’s new sunrise.

For I was a market analyst,
My world was statistics and business,
But this business is a numbers game,
End results are all that is important,
Yet what is important is when we read
between the lines.

I am not a peace activist I am a citizen,
I see clearly that I am taking responsibility,
I have the ability to respond,
I see the social ills,
For there is a dis-ease,
All the people know that life is meant to be easier,
But they are afraid to act,
They feel they don’t have the knowledge,
They are on the wrong track,
For they have been disempowered,
It is a dumbing down.

Yet love is the liberator,
If people will follow the heart,
It leads us home to happiness,
It leads us home to justice,
It is the home in the heart,
That will welcome the stranger,
That is estranged from his world.

My journey is a trail,
I have followed the side road,
My dream has lead me to values,
It has shown me that values generate beliefs,
This is the power within that creates,
It knows no destruction only possibilities.

The children are sitting in the car park,
For the parks have been sold,
There is no room to be a child,
The television is a baby-sitter,
The television is indispensable,
For the values shown are currently ‘in’,
It feeds gossip,
It feeds war,
It feeds conflict,
It fills gaps,
For there is no filler,
That can feel,
For it is life by proxy,
And time is melting,
the commercials break,
The monotony of an empty life,
Is the one that takes.

I have no interest in power,
For power over others is the bully,
And I see a world that is equal,
Where all are treated with respect,
Where values are more important than investments,
For real investments are in people not yields,
In communities not fields,
Where connections build friendships,
Of harmony, justice and faith.

I have faith the world is good,
For the sun does not favour the flower,
The flower does not bloom for the bird alone,
The soil is grounded in nature,
For it is rich with potential,
Natural bounty is the future that is rich,
No thinning ozone,
No depleted soils,
No depleted uranium,
No nuclear stock piles,
For as we become wise we are learning,
That war is failure,
War is self destruction,
A lord is the servant,
For life must be served,
If it is to be pre-served for life.

I am truly a peace clown,
I clown to remember peace,
For I see you in me,
And I smile at the beauty of life,
That keeps giving hope to me.
