The Fools Gold is Truth

The last few months I’ve been travelling to the US, my home town and now I am in South Australia.  I have felt the call to write poetry but unable to find time for it.

Tonight I can’t sleep and the poem is waiting to be written, so be it.  I have to teach peace tomorrow and I am very tired, I’ve done a lot of teaching to a range of groups.  I have loved it.

I am a Fool for Peace, indeed a Peace Fool, sometimes Peacefull.  Yet I am the fool that believes that peace is not only possible but inevitable and is who you really are.

It is a question of finding your own fool’s gold and then trusting that life will take you to where you need to go.  Now we move through interesting times where we either sink or swim.

To swim is to find peace was always the ocean where we see to look and recreate the World book.

En-joy :o)

The Fools Gold is Truth

Peace is you,

Peace is me,

Peace is the seed,

That set’s you free.

A culture of violence,

Has been the poor seed of many generations,

Generating fear,

Generating greed,

Generating dishonesty,

Imprisoned in the old beliefs,

That never germinate the real possibilities of relief.

Yet I am here with a message in my bag,

I have gold coins that are rare,

They are the fool’s gold of antiquity,

And as life takes me on a journey of rubrics cubes,

As life takes me by the hand,

I begin to understand,

That there are no mistakes,

No wrong turns,

That every pathway opens what I learn,

All wisdom is what I earn,

As I watch a sea of faces parading across the stage of my life,

Each leave impressions,

Like footsteps on the endless sand,

I stand on the beach and look out to sea,

To see each footstep leads us not to a physical destination,

But to a realisation,

That all is impermanence.

For I am the fool,

I have stood on many cliffs,

I have stepped off,

And life has shown me that I am not in control,

As I free fall into a new adventure,

That I am merely playing a role,

To show that life is the play,

That there are alternative ways,

And when we ask we will be given,

For the power is within you,

For within you is real power,

But it is not to wield over others,

It is not to keep the path under covers,

It is to reveal who you are in your true glory,

It is to find value in your story of integrity,

To find real wealth in honesty,

It is to find happiness not in money,

But in being who you are,

To feel the rising star,

Every morning,

And this is what is meant by the fool’s gold.

For many think that owning nothing is foolish,

That walking into life alone is only for fools,

That to stand for what you believe,

Is to believe and then make a stand,

When many ask you to sit down,

For you do not need to be at peace to ask for it,

You do not need to be eqanimous to seek balance,

For it is in the opposite that one finds equilibrium,

It is in the sorrow unmasked that we find our joy,

For the contrasts are choices in disguise,

Awaiting your command,

For as you say it,

So it is,

And this is the magic,

Where life really happens.

Our world is going through disruptions,

An interruption to business-as-usual,

As nature rustles, stirs and oscillates,

In waves and circles of fire,

For octaves are reaching higher levels,

Temperatures are flaring,

As solar flares engulf the earth,

And scientists measure the changes,

Those in denial manufacture consent,

Yet you cannot lie to nature,

You cannot negotiate with the rain,

For the pain of humanity cannot be sustained,

By natural systems.

So this message is for those who seek real hope,

For those whose heads are emerging from the sand,

Where escape into technology is no longer permissible,

Where they seek to know the impossible is possible,

It is to see differently in order to no longer think,

For the feeling heart is the road less travelled,

It is not a motherhood statement,

Or a weakness to be denied,

It is to be tried on for size,

To realise that love was always the answer,

And this is not a religious statement,

It is an eternal testament that has endless testimony’s,

For we have all seen the heroic acts of love,

That save rather than destroy,

That give rather than take,

That sacrifice rather than self interest,

For best interest only arises from the rainbow of virtue,

And this is the fool’s gold waiting to be found,

For it will be uncovered at the end of the rainbow,

As we seek to get real,

To become dis-illusioned,

When we are no longer cushioned,

To stand naked before truth,

Is to discover our shared humanity,

The wonder of being human,

Free and unshackled from a past of relentless demands,

To understand that true freedom comes not at the end of a gun,

That it is indeed the sword of truth that cuts through illusion,

And this is the true courage that allows all to see,

That only the truth sets you free,

For eternity.
