The Path of Conflict Resolution Changes the Climate

When we resolve all conflicts, the climate will change.

THE PATH OF CONFLICT RESOLUTION

I dreamed I was teaching peace,
And this changed my life,
For I must be the change I wish to see,
If I wish to be free,
To live my life.

To step across the threshold of what one should do,
To be what one dreams,
Is the magic that cannot be defined,
As I sit with a friend,
We share a drink,
For we see the mirror in each others eyes,
For we both took risks and are smiling,
We did it alone,
For the visionary the belief in the vision is greater
Than the desire for security,
Or acceptance,
Or for lovers,
Or a place in society labelled success,
And you defy what others believe is a social order,
You start to see the order break down,
For it is the greatest illusion of security.

For when you choose to grow up,
To take responsibility for the world you see,
To believe that the impossible is possible,
Something amazing happens in your life,
You start to believe in yourself,
Surprising assistance comes in small packages,
Yet always it arrives.

And just when the money is gone,
Someone contacts you to throw a rope,
For the universe is not socialised into a belief system,
It is a natural state of being that is self supporting,
De Bono spoke of self regulating systems,
And I have come to understand that what goes around comes around,
And if I just keep my nerve and stay true,
Possibilities open up frequently,
For I am on a path of conflict resolution,
Where I see the conflict is me,
And when I am resolved then I can serve the world,
With great love and compassion,
For my life is an essence,
That is a presence,
That when I speak it is genuine,
As I will show the way to the next generation,
And this is the passion that moves my life.

There is no-one that can derail my truth,
For the truth is universal,
And it outlives our 1 second to midnight,
For we come from nothing,
We return to it,
The rules in between are an imagined community,
And unity will be found,
When we decide to love others,
With a respect and honour,
That we expect in our own lives.
