Peace as a Silent Spring

Silent Spring is a book written by Rachel Carson and published by Houghton Mifflin on 27 September 1962.[1] The book is widely credited with helping launch the environmental movement. The book documented detrimental effects of pesticides on the environment, particularly on birds. Carson said that DDT had been found to cause thinner egg shells and result in reproductive problems and death, though this was not actually mentioned in her book but discovered by later researchers[1]. She also accused the chemical industry of spreading disinformation, and public officials of accepting industry claims uncritically.

Peace is the way and the life. There can be no sustainability without peace. True peace will change the world. Peace is not something you are given, it is something you are, you simply allow for it and expand it as a choice. As you become conscious you notice your thoughts and those that don’t serve peace or your highest good you discard, those that promote harmony you embrace. Peace is a decision.

PEACE AS A SILENT SPRING

The memory of the past,
is never real in the present,
one can hold onto false hopes,
as a way to cope,
with rejection,
yet the projection,
is the mirror of my love,
I see in myself.

Yet no matter the pain,
no matter the insensitivity,
there is plenty to give in the present moment,
and so many kind faces are looking in my window,
so many showing me the way,
I see their eyes light up with real hope,
for they see my candle in their darkness.

To many I say that peace is possible,
and I have proof,
I no longer care if the whole world sees walls as security,
for they have a roof over their heads,
yet philosophy reaches beyond the stars,
as my dreams are no longer imprisoned in a room without a view,
I no longer follow ambitions on cue,
as the career path transforms into the long march
home.

I live in the magic that has no status or structure,
it houses ancient traditions that are intangible yet real,
I am given sacred insights as I travel the globe,
I wear the robe of freedom,
for I am following the whispers from the past,
leading the world to a renew-able future,
on time.

I am unafraid to walk this road alone,
for I am never alone as I reach out to all in truth,
I am given a roof, a warm bed and fullfilling dreams,
as i awaken from the silent stream,
that flows without planning,
that gives without thinking,
that lives in perfect trust,
that life is always kind,
for I am blind to prejudice.

I say goodbye with love to those who do not wish to join me,
I am learning from the past that not all desire peace nor truth,
that the past no longer exists in reality,
I did what I felt was true,
I gave without seeking to gain or lose,
and the pain tells me that this is not the way for me,
that I am free to go my own way,
for I will always say what is true for me,
in light that it is not true for you,
as I am not here to preach to you,
I simply came to love you,
in innocence.

For this is the star,
that never stops shining,
in a universe of possibilities,
I will find the way and the truth,
for I am a way show-er,
I am a sower of seeds,
and this is the universal creed,
of true sustain-ability
that reveals the blossoming flower,
of inner peace,
as a silent spring.
