Leaving Sydney

I spent 4 weeks in Sydney. I stayed one week with a friend and then her friend offered for me to stay another 3 weeks. It was a lovely, peaceful time. I had the pleasure of staying with Kari, Guy and Steve. Really nice people. I learned about how challenging people’s early lives can be, sometimes people grow up with bullying, other times they grow with suppression. We all carry some issues we must work through, this is the way of life. I also saw how kind people can be when they help each other. I saw the generosity and some tensions, but we are all learning peace, it has seldom anything to do with the other. Life is certainly a mirror. I felt so happy to be with these people and was deeply grateful to have a place to stay.

I had a great trip down to Canberra for the weekend. It was really nice to see my step sister and share with her the opportunity to make sure our parents have enough income to live on. They will adjust their life from having what they want when they want to a budget, so it is a big shift in psychology actually. Mum is going in for a hip replacement operation, so this will be a journey for her. She is a person who is always active but with her hip going she has had to get used to being still. Sometimes problems can be opportunities to experience ourselves in a different way. Mum is getting wiser as she is getting older. I also had the chance to see my father. We have had our misunderstandings in the past, but it seems we are moving forward. I had a lovely dream of my father and I just holding hands, not saying anything, this feels like the new way will be co-exist. Just allow and let go of the past.

My time in Sydney was great, I was able to make some money and move onto Brisbane. I had an interesting time there, revisiting old places I am familiar with. I used to live in Sydney for a few years, started my working life there. So I feel I am closing a door there. It feels like a new road is opening up.

I drove north of Sydney through the beautiful Central Coast. It is stunning to look at trees, mountains and inlets, really spectacular rock formations that have been carved to allow the road through. I thought of my world trip and the desire to see more of my own country. I am looking forward to my drive up to Brisbane. They had the floods up there so maybe I can be of help.

Heard the news about Christchurch, the earth is shifting and changing. I saw the compassion of people towards each other, these are the things that matter. In truth we have no control over nature, and if a disaster happens the only thing to watch for is how people help each other. We are each others keepers. So I send love and best wishes to all those who have suffered through this. May we see the importance of helping each other and being truly supportive.

So I am with a friend tonight and can hear the Bell birds outside. My friend has a vege garden and I feel we need to have more market gardens and self sufficiency, very important.

Life is uncertain but that is the space for possibilities.
