Making Life Happen: The Iron is Hot Before You Strike

Oliver Cromwell was famous for the aphorism ‘not only strike while the iron is hot, but make it hot by striking.’  Many people try to make things happen and they react to life and something happens but not necessarily what they are wanting. 

When you are open to life creativity emerges and answers arise through synchronicity.  Synchronicity was coined by Carl Jung to indicate that something comes together in a moment.  You may have been just thinking of someone and they ring, then later in the day something else reminds you of them and so on.  Or you meet someone on the street as you are walking and had been thinking about catching up for sometime. You may decide you want to do something and then people come to you with ideas, money and a way opens. Is it chance (probability) or is it meant to be (created)? 

I remember a friendly debate I had with Edward de Bono (creative thinking author). If I recall this correctly – he told me to imagine 10 doors and a goat behind one of the doors. He then said what is the probability of getting the door with the goat. I said 50:50. He puzzled over that. I said you either get it or you don’t. It appears or not. He said no it is 1/10 probability. Today I would say 0:1 on/off, it is meant to be or not.

I no longer see coincidence, I think everything that turns up in life is as it should be. I learn not to resist life and call it bad but look at it with curiosity and see the moment differently. I am not surprised when things turn up, as I note, I’ve been thinking of them. All life is energy and our brains are electromagnetic, the law of attraction is that like attracts like. I see the power of focus and creation. Perhaps that is creation? It is a very interesting question.

The Iron is Hot Before You Strike

Strike whilst the iron is hot,
It to act in the heat of the moment,
To harness the passion,
of energised action.

To make the iron hot by striking,
Causes friction,
For heat comes from rubbing surfaces together,
At the right oscillation,
In the tempo of the times,
And this is the weather of change,
which changes the climate.

We live in two world’s
One will reaCt to events,
Yet when we C first,
We C reate events,
Thus do we look to see?
Or do we see to look?
Working from the inside out,
For what we see is a reflection of inner-sight,
And this is not wrong or right,
It is the universal law of attraction,
Revealing synchronicity in action,
A realisation to act,
On inner truth.
