Earth: A Living Library of Infinitely Renewable Life
I walked out in nature today and was dwarfed by the beauty and balance surrounding me. I took my time to really look, feel and absorb the nature, which in truth, is my true nature. As I flowed without anywhere to go, just no-where which is now here, I found myself sinking into a peaceful co-existence with my world. One I dearly share with you.
Enjoy life.
A Living Library of Infinitely Renewable Life
I step out into nature,
An ecological footprint,
Leaving faint marks but no indentation,
For I do not own anything significant,
I simply allow life to be the shape changer,
And I watch it as a passing parade,
In celebration.
I walk on paths,
That many have walked before,
I marvel at the miracle of life,
In every blade of grass, rock, soil,
For the plants do not toil,
They resist not life,
They flow with the changes,
They live or die,
As nature decides,
Infinitely connected to the web of life,
As the umbilical cord was never severed.
A living library,
I watch the dog sniff and commune,
For in every secret signature is a story,
A library of what came before,
Beyond human sensing,
Nature looks upon itself,
Speaking a language coded into DNA,
Responding, reacting, signalling, sounding, moving
on the louve as nature intended,
For harmony is blended into a re-fined tapestry,
A cacophony of diversity intricately weaved,
For these are the silent universal keys,
Of true knowledge.
I see myself as part of the whole,
Thinking, feeling, philosophising,
Breathing, eating, drinking, absorbing,
Cycling, circulating, growing, dying,
For I am the key that unlocks my nature,
Nature is the lock that finds the key,
In harmony.
Until humanity can stop and smell the roses,
And not look for a profit motive,
Or a way to change what is,
Then silence will become home,
An intoxicating beauty that you are not alone,
A home where the heart is,
Falling in love with worlds within worlds,
from which we know not where they come,
Nor where they will go,
Hybernating into a snowball earth,
Or an after glow
of re-birth.
I hear the songbird singing sweetly,
Flirting and fluttering around the tree of my life,
The kangaroo is watching me still,
As I become still to watch its magnificence instilled,
Unmoving like a stringy bark eucalypt,
Blending under the cloak of its environment,
Sniffing the wind for signs of change,
The pause before thought,
Assessing safety then flight,
Waiting until the moment is right,
To re-bound in search of freedom’s kite,
Allowing the moment to carry life,
Into the wilderness of ancient mysteries.
I watch the pink galah’s gathering on a dying tree,
The black and white magpies join in with their garbling song,
Minor birds find a major,
A third note tips from narrow to wider intervals,
Green parrots dash in and dart away,
Wild enjoying the free-way,
Maneuvering angular precision from tree to tree,
I feel the piety of watching to truly see,
All life coexists on the one tree,
Branching out into diversity,
Is freedoms expression,
For intelligence takes on many shapes and sizes,
Harmonics and blueprints,
Dancing in rhythm and singing in tune on the canvas,
Of the one song.
Yet I feel the breeze tickle my nose,
No leafy cover shimmering and shaking,
A skeleton hanging as gnarly fingers,
A pale reminder of what once was,
The tree is dying a silent sedition,
It is in a critical condition,
Out of order, uprooted and in disarray,
As the root was not nourished on time,
The soil degraded, re-graded, too much lime,
Viruses, bacteria are feral spirals of resistance,
Yet all songbirds rest and play on the branches,
Unaware nature’s bounty is about to fall.
I hear them call in delight as rain breaks the drought,
They open and spread their feathers in glee,
Allowing the droplets to bounce as they bathe happily,
Singing with excited joy it is deafening,
For simple pleasures,
Finds pleasure in being simple,
And this is the golden key,
That sustains the tree of life,
For each take only what they need,
From the seed to maturity,
Nature is the conductor of parity,
Some thrive in adaptation,
Some decline at the wrong time out of steppe,
Some emerge from extinction as conditions flavour,
Predilection for harmony is natures tallest tale,
Told for billions of years without fail,
As no species arises on earth by chance,
All evolve and are re-caste to find natural synergy,
Natural selection is a wild life collection,
Arising from an epiphany of truth,
The tree of life is the roof,
Housing a living library
of infinitely renewable life.
