Being True to Nature

Those who challenge you are your greatest teachers. I feel only gratitude for the teachers in my life. I have experienced unconditonal love, and it is truly beautiful. Just as you are.

TRUE TO NATURE

When I look out onto this beautiful natural world,
My heart reaches for a peace that blends with every creature and organism,
I close my eyes and see the harmony of acceptance,
No judgement or harshness,
For I am loved as I am alive,
Life is love,
I love my life,
For our time is short on this jewel of an earth,
So I revive real hope,
For I can see,
The potential in you and me.

I am everyone’s friend,
But not everyone is my friend,
For I am the sea of harmony and acceptance,
It is my true nature,
I just feel love,
At times I cry,
For I long to fly,
Into the arms of freedom.

For innocence can be stolen,
By the heart carved in stone,
For the sculpture is commissioned,
The artist must ask permission,
For the masterpiece is not in the final cut,
For feeling erodes the toughest surface,
It is a diamond cut,
That feels the shape of love,
Which can only be seen,
When you see yourself,
In another.

From the hardness of your shell,
My diamond is cut,
For its face has resurfaced,
As a reflection of you,
As it is caught by the light,
A rainbow of colours,
Paints the message,
Glistening in your eyes,
That the greatest beauty,
Is not in perfection,
It is not in the shape,
It lives in what you value,
And I have always valued,
You.

For what you do to another,
You do to the self,
The stone mason had great power,
For stone is durable,
But seldom free,
For it is immovable,
And it stands as a symbol,
Against change,
So strange,
When the oyster contains the pearl,
But eventually it must open,
For the pearl must be seen,
For time breathes perfection,
Into a sea bed of change.
