Quantum Possibilities and Selves?

This blog introduces you to the quantum world as our life. The first part is a brief look at the film What the Bleep! Down the Rabbit Hole. I saw this film and interviewed the Directors on radio. It was an excellent film which provided you with the idea that we choose our reality based on our thoughts and the power of our own chemistry and how it affects the world we see. This idea was entertained in Back to the Future when Marty McFly has to go to the past to make sure his parents meet. There is an interesting twist in the film where his father either runs away from Biff and feels low self esteem all his life (creates a possible future) or he hits Biff and gains confidence and becomes wealthy in life as he feels self esteem (another possible future). What the Bleep do you know works on the theory that our thoughts change reality and there are possible realities that you can choose given how you focus your thoughts. It challenges the idea – is what you see real? do we choose what we experience on some level and live out that experience. Another example would be the film Sliding Doors, the idea of possibilities played out given an event …

Behind every closing door is another opening up to a whole new world. Starring Gwyneth Paltrow, John Hannah, John Lynch, and Jeanne Tripplehorn. The world around us is an amazing, mystical resource of the unknown. In the movie Sliding Doors, we get to tap into some of the unknown with the possibilities of two stories played out by one woman’s destiny to “catch” and “not catch” the London commuter rail.

Helen (Gwyneth Paltrow) is in Public Relations. She’s darn good at what she does, until she gets fired for taking 4 bottles of vodka which her upper crusty male coworkers claimed she stole — a sneaky, low-down, dirty way of getting her out of the company. The thing is she even bought some more to replace the ones she took. It just didn’t matter. She was given the boot frankly because she was a woman who had more success and power than her beastly male macho-thinking associates. Unfortunately, Helen made a microscopic slip that caused her to lose her job.

Well, life can be rotten every now and then, but it’s so nice to come home to a loving, faithful man who will comfort and support you, especially in your time of need. Did I say faithful? This is not going to be an easy day for Helen (or should I say either Helen?) There are two different scenarios presented to us (side by side) in what lies ahead for Helen (both roles played by Paltrow).

The first story is set. Helen catches the train by the skin of her teeth, meets a nice fellow by the name of James (John Hannah) who appears to have acquired a fancy for her, but Helen clearly makes it known she is involved with another man. Once at home, Helen then catches her boyfriend, Gerry (John Lynch), in bed with his ex-girlfriend, Lydia (Jeanne Tripplehorn). Helen never even saw this woman before, but the affair has been going on for a while.

This first story will unravel with Helen taking on a new identity of herself (a super deluxe hairstyle), finding a new love (James), and taking on a more independent, creative work environment (as her own boss)! With all of this in front of her what could go wrong? Time will tell…

The second story leaves Helen missing the train, getting mugged, and finding her boyfriend home alone in the apartment washing off his dirty little secret. Helen looks for a new job, but can’t find anything in her field, so she ends up working as a waitress at night and as a sandwich shop delivery person during the day.

Helen does all this tiresome and monotonous work that drains the life out of her, just so her boyfriend can continue to “work on his novel” and “go to the library.” Helen starts testing the waters of her relationship. She’s getting vibes of something not quite right with her boyfriend. Now with all this messy stuff going on, what else could happen?

So the film depicts two possible realities given time.

This blog will also take a brief look at Burt Goldman and his work on Quantum jumping, presenting the notion of parallel universes and multiple selves. Somewhat different to possible outcomes given time, this has more to do with other selves. I have heard this idea before, it seems very hard to imagine but who is to say what is true or not. This blog is really about exploring the possibilities. What I typically do with ideas that seem fantastic is reserve judgement, I just read what is stated and look for resonance within myself. If I don’t find it, I just suspend my opinion. If I feel interested to look again, I do, if not, then I don’t. However, my mind is very open to possibilities so I will look at a wide range of ideas, as in my mind there are many possibilities that I am not aware of.

So first to What the Bleep – Down the Rabbit Hole…

What The Bleep – Down The Rabbit Hole is an extended and enhanced Director’s Cut of What the Bleep Do We Know!? with new scientific findings that supplement the original movie. It is a deeper exploration of the links between quantum mechanics, neurobiology, human consciousness and day-to-day reality.

Whilst incorporating the journey of photographer Amanda (Marlee Matlin) as she slowly changes her life, more time is given to in-depth interviews with sixteen of the world’s top physicists, engineers, physicians, biologists, researchers, journalists and mystics, who talk about consciousness, psi research, physics, biology, emotion and addictions. The film’s power and magic lies in the fact that it really makes us understand how human beings are connected to each other – to the whole universe – and how we all affect reality. Delve deeper than ever before, with over 12 hours of content. There’s more to understand… there’s more to see…

What the Bleep!? – Down the Rabbit Hole is an Extended Director’s Cut of What the Bleep Do We Know!? It includes new scientific findings that supplement the original movie, and it goes more deeply into the concepts explored.

We still follow Amanda as her uninspired life unravels to reveal the uncertain world of quantum mechanics hidden beneath her normal, waking reality. But in the Director’s Cut, the interviews are lengthened and a full 95% of all interviews is new, never before seen footage exploring the links between quantum mechanics, neurobiology, human consciousness and day-to-day reality.

Featuring 90 minutes of new interviews and two new scientists, Dean Radin, Ph.D., and Dr. Masaru Emoto, and author of The Field, Lynne McTaggart; and introducing Dr. Quantum in 20 minutes of new animation, this is the deeper exploration that you’ve been asking for.

After four years and thousands of hours working with the scientific information presented in What the BLEEP Do We Know!?, the filmmakers were sure about at least one thing: There was much more to know.

As they worked with the material, they laughed and admitted you just don’t get quantum physics, biology and psychoneuroimmunology the first time through. Or the first hundred times through.

Audience responses, website responses, letters, emails and conferences all indicated the same thing: People wanted a deeper understanding of all these concepts, and a deeper knowledge about how they affected them individually and as a collective.

Thus the extended Director’s Cut of What the BLEEP – Down the Rabbit Hole was born.

WHAT THE BLEEP DO WE KNOW!?

What the Bleep Do We Know!? is an extraordinary project which transcends traditional cinema and presents a hybrid ‘feature documentary’ that challenges and inspires its audience – it’s a unique cinematic creation – really three films in one, interwoven like a DNA helix, into an original tapestry.

It’s a documentary. It’s a story. It has mind-blowing special effects. These three elements combine to bring about a film experience that will rock your mind and lift your soul! It’s a new genre about a New Worldview for a new audience. This outrageous film plunges you into a world where quantum uncertainty is demonstrated – where neurological processes, and perceptual shifts are engaged and lived by its protagonist – where everything is alive, and reality is changed by every thought.

It has been called by some theater goers ‘The Handbook to The Matrix’. Like The Matrix it shows you a greater reality behind the one we all accept as true, and you have the ability to create absolutely anything from your own thought while laughing all the way! The difference between this film and that movie is that this isn’t science fiction. It’s even stranger. It’s real. And it’s the first film to say it. And it does so boldly and with a BLEEP of a lot of humour.

When science fiction becomes science. By Burt Goldman

Since the 1920’s, quantum physicists have been trying to make sense of an uncomfortable and startling fact—that an infinite number of alternate universes exist.

Leading scientists like Stephen Hawking, Michio Kaku and Neil Turok, all of whom are responsible for life-changing breakthroughs in the field of quantum physics, have all suggested the existence of multiple universes.

This jaw-dropping discovery was first made when, trying to pinpoint the exact location of an atomic particle, physicists found it was virtually impossible. It had no single location. In other words, atomic particles have the ability to simultaneously exist in more than one place at a time. The only explanation for this is that particles don’t only exist in our universe—They can spark into existence in an infinite number of parallel universes as well. And although these particles come to being and change in synchronicity, they are all slightly different.

But here’s where things get really interesting. Drawing on the above-mentioned scientific theory and merging it with 59 years of study into mysticism and the human mind, Burt Goldman has come to one shocking conclusion:
In these alternate universes, alternate versions of YOU are living out their lives.

And with an infinite number of them, it means that anything that can happen, does happen—in another universe. So in effect, there is a universe where Obama never won the election and another where Princess Diana is still alive. There is a universe where you are the King of Scotland and a universe where you are a tea farmer in China. A universe where you are a celebrity musician, and one where you busk on a pavement for spare change.

So how do parallel universes come to be? How, if you are born in this universe, are there now an infinite number of dimensions where you exist simultaneously? The theory is simple:
Every decision you make in life causes a “split” in reality…

Which in turn creates two alternate universes—one where the current version of you is today, and another with the version of you who made a different choice. Now think about your life.

Think about all the decisions you’ve made that led to who you are today. If all these decisions caused a split in your reality, each time creating a new version of yourself in a parallel universe who also goes on to make a certain set of choices thereby splitting their reality, you can begin to imagine the infinite versions of yourself that exist.

Now imagine what you could accomplish if you could somehow tap into these alternate universes to meet and learn from these alternate versions of yourself. Imagine the wisdom you’d learn. The opportunities you’d recognize, the skills you’d acquire, and the pitfalls you’d know to avoid.

By meeting these alternate selves, you’d essentially be tapping into an endless universal sea of knowledge and experience. But how, might you be asking, does one access these alternate realities?

I have seen Burt Goldman’s website briefly and he speaks of this, however it is best if you decide for yourself. I don’t know much about his work but I am intrigued by parallel realities. Linear time is earth experience, just imagine if the rabbit hole goes much deeper. I just had the amusing thought of the split in your reality now – what happens if you follow this up, what happens if you don’t. Either way you have two possible futures. Every moment you choose a new reality. Fascinating hey.
