The Inner Strength of the Feminine
I was looking for inner strength and the feminine. Yet I am not talking about the feminine as a woman. I am seeking those qualities that bring out gentleness, nurturing, empathy and healing. I see that as the feminine. It is the essence of love and it resides in both women and men. Within that is love of self. When they experience it they naturally come together, the battle of the sexes is over, it becomes true love between the sexes, as nature intended. When people come into relationship, no matter what that relationship is, they must come into it with a love of self. Otherwise it becomes need. Need is not love it is expectation and with that comes all the negative manifestations of not enough.
I remember a year ago crying in front of my mother and she ignored me. I said to her with tears in my eyes, you think I am weak, she said yes. I saw that she embodied an attitude that not crying was strong and that crying was weak. I told her we have tear ducts in our eyes to cry, it is to release tension, toxins and it makes us fully human. Slowly she is coming around, she has certainly rung me up in tears and never have I turned her away as weak. However, what she showed me was the attitudes of her generation towards the feminine. I will never stop crying on the basis of another’s view of weakness, for me it is my greatest strength. I love the fact I feel for others, that I can cry for a child I don’t know, that I can love openly and cry openly. It is something that if I didn’t have it, I would go mad or become hard, neither is a state of happiness. Crying as healthy expression facilitates happiness, I feel.
Who you are moves beyond gender, and happiness is the result. So this is for both women and men, to find the real source of strength coming from a very positive place within.
I found this posting on the internet and felt to share it.

Spring forward – time to reflect upon your femininity.
Do words linger in the back of your mind and pop-up at the most unexpected times?
When you were young, what kind of memorable words of encouragement or discouragement did you receive from your parents? Did those words stick with you past childhood? Have you become a certain kind of adult because of what you believed your parents wanted you to be, or believed you were? The parental voice is a powerful thing – one we internalize because it holds so much control over us as children. It’s hard to step out of the expectations that our parents created for us, and we often translate those expectations into adulthood. Parents may use language that, far from encouragement, make us self-conscious or sensitive and turn us on the way to overcompensation or self-denial.
Femininity is something that is discouraged in boys because it is commonly thought of as a weakness – but girls can be dissuaded from channeling their femininity as well. Maybe your mother wanted you to know that you were a strong woman capable of anything, but equated strength with male characteristics. After all, the world is dominated by men, and their power appears to be directly attributed to their gender. Or perhaps you looked up to your father‘s respect and approval so much that you still strive for it unconsciously. The male gender wrought opportunity in a time of inequality, and established a belief that should women choose to achieve equal power, they ought to be more like men. This inherently implies that women are not good or strong enough. But if women aim for power, should they be striving to mimic maleness? Or can they redefine what it means to be strong on their own terms?
The opposite of femininity is power. Is that true? Is that true to you?
Femininity need not be associated with weakness or being second-best. If you are actively denying the feminine energy and sensuality that exists within you as a woman, then you are denying a part of yourself. The inner-child or inner-self needs your approval more than you think. Why mimic someone else’s actions? Your particular talents and idiosyncrasies, and your female traits – whether you are “feminine” or not -needs to be celebrated. Tap within and discover more about your inner-self as a source of strength and inner power.
Take this time to think about the assumptions people have made about you, or for you, because of your gender or looks. Then think about your own assumptions and insecurities. Do they belong there? Do they make sense? Are they setting you on the path to greatness, or have you set self imposed limitations in trying to be someone that you’re not? Is it okay to be yourself?
Recognize and understand that whatever other people think or feel is of their concern, part of their lives, part of their attitude and their past. Through hypnotherapy you can conquer all guilt, shame, self doubt, anger and much more – we help you shed all misconceptions and validate the true You.
Your inner you will come out whether you suppress it or not. Understanding your subconscious and embracing who you are will serve as a source of power and heal you from within.
