David Attenborough: God and Overpopulation

What I love about him is his honesty and intelligent appraisal of God.

For me I feel this source as love, it was only through hardship and a real deep questioning for truth that I realised this.  I feel fortunate as when all else fails, for me, this life force is there.  It speaks a different language yet it is consistent and gentle.  I experience love as harmony and a direct feeling of love.  Through my poetry I wrote words I didn’t know and I saw the wisdom, I felt this as inner knowledge that connects to truth which is alive for me.

People will blame god and ask why are all the problem allowed to happen? We have been given free will and we are the ones who choose the world we co-create. Responsibility is at our feet. God allows what is, as we are choosing by our thought, word and action.  Love is freedom you see.

In my view there are no mistakes, I do not believe this higher power makes mistakes.There is perfection in imperfection.

Here is David’s viewpoint. It matters not whether he believes or not, he has created in people a belief in nature which arose from this intelligence. I don’t think God minds.

I have added David’s lecture on overpopulation.  Can we make Family Planning free?  I would add parenting and quality education educating the whole child not just to be a good worker but to be a fully expressed human being.

Economics runs counter to reduced consumption so that we all can simply live.  It is what I would call counter intuitive.

I learned of 85,000 children died of starvation in Yemen. I sat and deeply felt them. We hear the media continually focus on on terrorism but we forget starvation, war deaths, domestic violence, ecological crisis and our inability to work together.

I am sure there are people out there wanting to depopulate. What I would say to them is that it is not about reducing population, it is about living in harmony with nature. When we live simply others can simply live. We don’t take over space from other sentient beings, we respect all creatures great and small. The way we spend money, build technologies without commensurate wisdom, when we keep expanding output for profit that is a psychological incompatibility with nature. As I have said only peace re calibrates us to nature as peace is balance. I know this for sure.
