Time to Connect Together in a Global Village

COMMUNICATION

A global village,
A stark contradiction in terms,
The small becomes so large,
The jury is adjourned.

As we imagine the superhighway,
As the thinkers start to dream,
A new social order will develop,
As the technology floats downstream.

All humanity is a family,
Although we seem remote,
We must connect together,
If we are to keep afloat.
We jargonise our language,
We hear a reasoned tone,
We’re building up our assets,
Accessorising our mobile phones.

So why the bright lights and dazzling colour,
Why is there so much noise,
To gain attention silly,
And fiddle with our toys.

Imagine if we were always naked,
And this was seen as a natural state,
No colour, make up or fancy clothes,
Could be used to find a mate,
The reality is there for all to see,
No falsely manufactured attraction,
Just simplicity and feeling,
Fuelling interaction.

No more houses to fill with furniture,
No more running late,
The forest is your bedroom,
No more interest rates,
Fresh fruit and vegetables,
Taking in such a fresh air,
Where confidence reins supreme,
You no longer have a care.

To live with no more judgement,
A member of this human race,
No longer lost in space,
Our fear we embrace.

With dignity and respect,
No more lying,
Feel our hearts crying,
This is the time to reflect,
Globilisation is suspect.
