Les Twentyman and Youth on Drugs

 Social disintegration fuels the drug trade and social alienation.  Drugs are used to sooth, to feel again yet in reality young people coming from difficult backgrounds have emotional issues that are unintegrated and projected into the world as despair, anger, grief etc.  I watched a documentary in the US and it was clear that the police had views that those disobeying laws were the bad guys and that the code of not snitching met they couldn’t get prosecutions.  The code is the family it seems and they cannot break the code.

Early childhood is where the imprints are created, young people need assistance in expressing their trauma in ways that are safe and fully allowing.  Drugs are not a crime they are a social problem.

Les Twentyman is an older man who has been a youth worker for decades.  He has insights into how to help the young people.  The war on drugs doesn’t work, perhaps love is the answer?  What do you feel?
